Viking Line's summer cruises 2021
In the summer of 2019, Viking Line started with cruises from Visby. It became a success, and now they choose to expand the range of special cruises around the Baltic Sea. Viking Line's summer cruises 2021 go to Gdansk, Bornholm, Visby and the High Coast. All cruises are 3 or 4 days long, and if you want, you can bring your own car or bike to explore the destination. For those who wish, guided tours are also available.
Cruise 1: Gdansk
Gdansk is a beautiful and historically interesting old Hanseatic city, well worth a visit. Together with Gdynia and Sopot, it forms what is called Trójmiasto (Three Cities). Also Gdynia, where the ship docks, is a pleasant harbour town with beaches and shopping.
Sopot is perhaps the most exclusive holiday destination of the three, with grand hotels and luxurious champagne bars right on the sandy beach. Viking Line provides shuttle buses, and if you wish, you can experience Gdansk on your own with an audio guide.

Cruise 2: Bornholm
Ever since we sailed in the Baltic Sea in the summer of 2019, we have been hungry for Bornholm. We missed the start in Bornholm and hopped on the sailing yachts later, but was accompanied throughout the trip by Bornholm residents who spoke highly of their island.
This summer, you can travel here (Rönne) on Viking Line's 2021 summer cruises. You can download the Bornholm app and explore the island by car or bike, or book a Viking Line excursion.

Cruise 3: Visby
Visby is an old Hanseatic city that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. We have both been here, but it was a long time ago and in contexts where we had a completely different focus than discovering Visby's culture and history. We recently planned a trip here, which unfortunately was cancelled due to the current situation, which makes us more excited about Visby than ever.
Viking Line's ferries arrive 1.5 kilometres from Almedalen and shuttle buses run to the city centre. You can discover the city yourself, perhaps using the Visby app, or by booking one of Viking Line's excursions.

Cruise 4: High Coast
The High Coast is famous for its beauty. We were here during a summer trip with the motorhome in 2010, when we saw the High Coast Bridge and visited Gullvik sea baths. But that was a long time ago, and we feel we still have a lot to experience. For example, visits to Hernö Gin and the High Coast Distillery.
Viking Line's 2021 summer cruises to High Coast consists of 2 parts - the summer city Härnösand and the surrounding area and the inner archipelago tour. On the inner archipelago tour, you can see and experience the mighty High Coast Bridge, the "Gateway to the World Heritage Site", where ten thousand years of land uplift have created a unique archipelago environment with high mountains, bays and lagoons.

We did cruise number 2 in the summer of 1995, but with Birka. Very nice and it was my first (and so far only) visit to Visby and Rönne. That we passed Mariehamn I guessed then was because they would open the bar on the boat 🙂.
Now I can't wait to tick again...
Have a nice day!

These cruises are usually very enjoyable.
We travelled to Åland, Bornholm and Gotland with Birka many years ago. And with Cinderella we went to Visby last summer during the Almedalen week. Both tours were great.
I have visited the High Coast many times but then in the job as a tour guide and guide. Then by bus and during four days so you have time to see and experience much more of the High Coast - Here is really so nice. I hope there will be a new trip this summer. The plans are so but you never know. This year
(Unfortunately you can't get under the High Coast Bridge because Cinderella is too high, but you can see the bridge from a distance).
I know that Cinderella docks in Härnösand and it is a very nice city and the excursion destinations are around there.
We have plans for a trip there with CInderella but we will see. But I do not think you see so much of the High Coast because then you have to continue up towards Ö-vik.

This type of cruise seems very nice! We have never actually been on a cruise to these destinations, not with any of the companies, but it sounds tempting! We really like that the cruise companies are starting to think a little new! (Yes, although not everything is completely new under the sun, but still!!!)

Great cruises that I really hope they get off. In addition, I think they are incredibly affordable. Great fun to invest in different destinations in the Baltic Sea. And Poland is one of our and your favourites if I remember correctly.

Helena says:
We think they sound nice too! And yes, Poland is a favourite for us too! 🙂

Even we who are definitely not cruise people think these cruises sound great! We have Bornholm with a motorhome as a planned trip next year (if you can plan anything...).

It becomes a little different when you get the chance to go ashore and make excursions. How nice that you have Bornholm planned! We hope and believe that you can travel in the spring (although of course we do not know anything for sure).

How wonderful it sounds, especially Gdansk, Bornholm and Visby I would like to see 🙂 But it remains to be seen if I am keen on a cruise already next summer....

Lena - good for the soul says:
They all seem to be really lovely cruises. Really attracts. I have never been to Poland, Bornholm was really nice 30 years ago 😉 Probably just as nice now too. Visby I really want to see again. It was maybe 25 years ago, hehe. The high coast was more recent. really beautiful there. So yes, maybe there will be a trip next year.
