Planning in the motorhome/caravan kitchen
What's the best way to plan a motorhome kitchen? We've thought about this quite a lot over the last ten years. When you live in a motorhome (or caravan) you have a limited amount of space, and it's even more important than at home to be organised. And of course you want it to be nice and cosy! And you don't want it to rattle when you drive ...
Don't motorhome and caravan kitchens look different? Yes, the design can be quite different. But there are still some similarities. For example, you always have a limited space to move around, and you want to be able to pack well for travelling. Here are some different motorhome and caravan kitchens:
What do you need to know about motorhome and caravan kitchens?
When it comes to planning the kitchen in a motorhome or caravan, everyone thinks differently. Some people want melamine and plastic glasses, while others want real crockery and glasses. Some people like to have lots of stuff on display, and others like to have nothing at all. What's best is of course individual! We've come up with a few things that work for us:
- Melamine and plastic glass
- Drawers in the cabinets to store food and kitchen equipment
- Towels between pots and pans to reduce rattle
- Hangers on the wall for paper towels, dish brushes, pot holders and kitchen towels.
Products for the motorhome/caravan kitchen
We have embarked on developing products for the motorhome kitchen, together with the Swedish company Pufz. The first products arrived last year and consisted partly of dishcloths with motorhome/caravan decoration and partly by trivets in the shape of camper vans/caravans. The trivets have a nice design, but what we also like is that the silicone material is durable, stays still, and is easy to clean. and dampens the rattle when driving. Perfect in a motorhome then!
Upcoming product - kitchen towels
Now, as you may know, we are developing even more products together with the company Pufz. We have pressed the start button and now we are "only" waiting for production and delivery, which will take a few months. In any case, we have decided to show some samples. Already last week we showed the upcoming threadsand now it's time to preview even more products.
These beautiful kitchen towels will be available in our online shop. They will be sold in 2-pack, i.e. either motorhome grey+white or caravan grey+white. We hope that they will be in the store at the end of May, but if you want, you can register your interest now by sending us an email.
Upcoming product - potholders
Another product in the pipeline is potholders! Again, they will be available for sale in 2-packs. You choose either a motorhome or caravan motif. One side will be white and the other side will be grey. Of course, it is possible to email me about prior interest!

Storage and planning in a motorhome kitchen is not the easiest thing to do. We've tried various storage boxes and other things over the years, some better and some worse.....When we changed motorhomes and got one less cupboard, there were a few more things to think about.
Your new products look really nice!

I see that you are already on this, having several colour choices is probably important. For example, we don't have any grey in our motorhome, but we do have cream/vanilla colours... We think it's ok to set the table with melamine plates. But we also have Eva Solo porcelain serving bowls. However, we quickly threw out the plastic glasses. We use a restaurant series with very strong glasses. We have six glasses of four different types. https://www.torebrings.se/sok?q=Cabernet+ Not a single glass has broken of these despite thousands of miles.
Good luck in the future!

Thanks for nice comment Matts! Colour choices are great! We would like to supplement with light beige / cream or similar, but do not have the budget to start with everything at once. The glasses you show look nice and good!!!

We missed that there was no microwave in the house the car doesn't know where it will fit if we get one has an Adria.

There is probably rarely a micro in the basic version, but if it is a new motorhome, you can probably check with the manufacturer if it can be installed somewhere. Motorhome kitchens have a limited space, so it's a challenge to fit everything you want. It's also worth remembering that a microwave can only be used when you're plugged in.
