As you know, Mondays mean travel news here at FREEDOMtravel. At least when we are not travelling ourselves, and we have not been for a while. Today it is about new package holidays, new sports hotels and a new airline.

The company Acamp takes telework to a new level
Start-ups Acamp becomes the first in Sweden to offer its employees a mobile office, according to a press release. Together with Tumbo Husvagnar och Husbilar, Acamp has equipped an office in a Sunlight Cliff 600, with everything needed to work in complete freedom and flexibility.
Acamp's mobile office provides new opportunities to combine holidays, travel and work. The company Acamp offers a service where you can find and book a place to camp that is different from the classic large-scale options, such as farms with microbreweries or guided fishing trips.
Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi new at Ving
Ving now presents a winter novelty north of the Arctic Circle - package holidays to the Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi. The package holidays are offered Friday-Sunday from Stockholm during the period February-April and the journey takes place with SAS regular flights to Kiruna. The packages include two nights' accommodation (one night in a spectacular ice room and one night in a heated hotel room), a breakfast buffet, a short transfer and ice sculpting. A four-course ice menu, Northern Lights safari and dog sledding can be added at the time of booking.
Apollo opens two new sports hotels under the Playitas brand
Interest in active holidays has increased in recent years and Apollo predicts that demand will increase even more after the corona. Therefore, Apollo is now launching two more concept hotels under the brand powered by Playitas. This summer opens Sivota Retreat in Sivota on the Greek mainland and Porto Myrina on the island of Limnos. Both hotels will offer well-equipped gyms, crossfit, group exercise, padel, tennis courts, cycling centre and water sports. In addition, great emphasis is placed on comfort, healthy food and excellent swimming facilities.
Wizz Air opens flight route between Skellefteå and Gdansk
The Hungarian airline Wizz Air is establishing a direct route between Skellefteå and the Polish city Gdansk The route will operate all year round. Gdansk is one of Poland's largest and oldest cities and a popular tourist destination with its rich history and beautiful architecture. There is a wide range of cultural life, an impressive selection of restaurants, various shopping centres and several beautiful beaches thanks to the proximity of the Baltic Sea.
Lollo & Bernie products to be sold on Matsmart.se
In the coming days, 350,000 products from Ving: toys and children's clothing with Lollo & Bernie motifs, will be released on Matsmart.se. A consequence of last year's events is that many Lollo and Bernie products remained unsold. In order not to let any products go to waste, the travel company, as part of its sustainability work, has started a collaboration with Matsmart. The rescue means that all products that would have been sold at Vings' hotels now end up on Matsmart's sites in Sweden, Finland and Denmark.
Water freezing in the Baltic Sea - go home on time
When the ice settles in the archipelago, there are some islands and piers where it is not possible to run regular traffic. Waxholmsbolaget therefore urges people who plan to go out into the archipelago to cancel their trip if it is not necessary. People who are temporarily living in the archipelago are encouraged to follow the weather reports and to get home before the ice settles. This applies especially to those in the central archipelago around Husarö and Möja, where the ice is already beginning to spread.
Reflection of the week
Remote working in a motorhome is smart, we agree with Acamp on this. We've been using the campervan as a rolling office (and holiday home of course) for a long time!

I think it's nice to see that the big travel giants are doing everything they can to keep their customers, such as creating weekend packages in Sweden.

Wow! A little unexpected with a direct flight between Skellefteå and Gdansk. But still fun that not all trips start from Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö / Copenhagen.

The ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi is really an experience. We have been there on our own and stayed overnight a couple of times... Worth it!
It's nice that Ving is testing this (but it's quite easy to get there on your own with a flight to Kiruna and take a taxi two kilometres to Jukkasjärvi. Or maybe the hotel arranges the transfer.) Maybe it will even be cheaper if Ving arranges it.

Also stuck to the rather unexpected route between Skellefteå and Gdansk. Great that Norrland gets a direct flight to Poland, and that it is not only the big cities that get it. Let's just hope that the line carries itself.
Oh you were ahead of your time - remember you used Freedom as an office for many years:-)
