The winter was white, cold and beautiful, but in Stockholm it is now inevitably gone. Might as well get some spring feelings, right? We don't really know what spring will be like, but at least the ice is melting and it's getting warmer.

Feelings of spring
The ice is almost completely gone here in Stockholm. For us, this period always means a few days of hard pounding against our bedroom walls. The ice hitting the hull has a tendency to propagate and sound very loud. But now it has calmed down!
Hectic job
I (Helena) work extremely a lot right now. I'm evaluating two different 3-year public health projects and both are due for final reports around the same time (last February and last March). There are morning video meetings and evening video meetings and spontaneous video meetings and emails are popping up. just all the time. Yesterday I didn't even go outside the door. It is fortunate that Peter shops, cooks and writes some blog posts such as Facts about Estonia - 30 things you (might) not know!
New glasses
You shouldn't run around in shopping centres and stores unnecessarily in these pandemic times, but buying new glasses was more of a "necessity" than an unnecessary one for me. Six months ago they cracked in the frame and a month ago the frame came loose. completely. The tape allowed the glasses to stay on reasonably well, if I sat still. On the other hand, I'm nearsighted, so I need the glasses most when I'm running around.
Finally, I got new glasses at Specsavers in London. Solna centre. It was both a pair of regular glasses and a pair of sharpened sunglasses (my first!). Good service and okay price for both glasses together. However, we have to say that it was a little difficult to avoid congestion in the centre of Solna. Lots of people there!
Best this week
Yesterday, a reader from northern Sweden called and wanted to tell us that he thinks our blog is good and that he will get a lot of use out of it when they travel in Europe. So, so fantastic feedback to hear that! Then you are really encouraged to continue making a good travel blog! What has been the best part of your week?
The week ahead
What happens now? In fact, we have a little excursion plan for Saturday and it will be so exciting. We will get back to you! What are your plans?

I agree with the caller. You have a great blog! It's like a travel encyclopaedia. If I'm thinking about a destination, this is where I go.
Our weekend includes shopping for my parents in Uppsala and otherwise it will probably be fix at the house construction and some promotion of course.

Winter temperatures have disappeared here too and this week. Almost all the snow too. If it keeps up, we will bring the motorhome home next week so we can start preparing for this year's season, Best, but also a little sad, this week was to leave my job. Now I hope the corona situation will allow a long summer in the motorhome!
Have a nice weekend!

What great pictures of the ice! But I imagine it makes a lot of noise when it hits the hull....
Although the repair of the glasses was very professionally done, it was probably time to buy new ones 😉 I got an email from Specsavers this week who thought I should also get new ones and I should. There has been a "chip" in my progressive sunglasses. But I have lived with that defect for probably a couple of years now, so there is probably no hurry 😀.
The best part of the week was a little day trip we made with three stops in places we had not visited before. What fun it was to "travel" again!
Have a great start to the weekend!

Vision screening, audiology and dentistry are my first priority when I have been vaccinated. I have not been reluctant to go there because of the staff, but it has been the waiting rooms that have made me try to cope.

What a last picture there! An ice street without being an ice street. How delicious!
Nice glasses, too. Is also nearsighted, so then you have no choice if you need glasses, especially if you drive a car like me.
Just like in Solna Centrum, Täby Centrum is also packed with people. Not in the shops but in the aisles. Almost impossible to keep the "right" distance. So put on a face mask. Not fun at all, as the masks are incredibly disgusting in my opinion.

How wonderful that spring seems to be making inroads with you too.
Here in Wales it is in full bloom.
It's great to have positive feedback.
Have a nice weekend!
