Ruth in Virginia says:
I delivered a second-hand car to a company.
in Las Vegas in the autumn of 1952. Then there was ONE
hotel in the city. Otherwise, there was only one line
Wild West+type saloons with swinging doors.
Have been back a few times, but only in transit.
I don't like that kind of "entertainment"...

Have been to Las Vegas a couple of times. Most recently I stayed at the MGM Grand. A really fascinating city. It really makes the expression "I feel like I'm in a film" come true. The fact that there are no windows in public areas, because you are supposed to lose time and space, makes the hotels quite uncomfortable. Breakfast is served around the clock, dinner is served around the clock. All so that you can choose your own circadian rhythm. And it's a hell of a life. But at the same time, it's so crazy cool.

Me and my Canadian mate visited a casino when we were at Niagara Falls (Canadian side) I had never visited a casino before and thought it was a bit fun to try. It was very Las Vegas feeling about the place but we had fun.
