It's time for travel news again! Although today we report on a country that is starting to open up, travelling abroad is still tricky and there will still be a big focus on Sweden.

Austria will reopen on 19 May
The Austrian government has announced the reopening of the country as of 19 May. The rules that apply depend on which country you are travelling from, and the situation may change. Even after 19 May, Swedes are required to have a negative coronavirus test, proof of vaccination or confirmation that they have had COVID-19 in the last 6 months, and five days of quarantine (as Sweden is currently considered a high-risk country). If the incidence rate in Sweden falls below 500, the quarantine requirement is removed. Current information can be found at Austria.info.
CampingSverige.se has a new outfit

Swedes' savings during the pandemic are mainly for travelling
A recent survey by Ving shows that more than 5 out of 10 Swedes have saved more money than usual during the corona pandemic, and many want to use the money for travelling. The survey shows that 44 per cent want to travel more often than before, and only 3 per cent want to travel less often. This is what Swedes are saving for during the pandemic:
- A journey (62 %)
- Special occasions with an extra edge (38 %)
- A buffer if something unexpected happens (36 %)
- Long-term savings (33 %)
- Home renovation (14 %)
Forsbergs Fritidscenter will not be present at Elmia Husvagn Husbil 2021.
Forsbergs Fritidscenter has, together with the other brands in the stand, decided not to participate in Elmia Husvagn Husbil 2021. The decision is made with regard to employees and customers as they do not think it is responsible to carry out a fair in the current situation. Forsbergs Fritidscenter writes that they will instead focus on developing last year's success at all seven centres. In collaboration with their eight motorhome and caravan brands, they will fill their halls with a wide range of models.
This year's holiday trends on the Göta Canal
When Göta Canal opens on 4 May, the number of boat bookings is higher than ever. Interest in travelling by land is also expected to be high. The Göta Canal sees four clear trends this year:
- Experience nature on land and water: Great interest in cycling, kayaking, boating and forest bathing.
- Boating holidays are hotter than ever: An increasing number of Swedes have become interested in boating holidays, and a new guest harbour is opening in Motala.
- Luxury and nature: Experiencing nature in comfort is expected to be big. Along the canal, there are new glamping sites as well as luxury eateries and hotels.
- Tailor-made travel packages: More and more people are opting for customised package solutions that combine different activities. New this year is Svecia Travel's ready-made package tours for those who want to travel with their own car.
reflection of the week
Although it is technically possible to travel abroad to multiple destinations, it still feels complicated. Of course, we want to experience other countries, but we'll stay in Sweden for a while longer, until the situation feels more under control. What about Elmia? It feels uncertain ...

Daniel on FlyingDryden says:
Yes, it feels like the Swedes are sitting on a lot of capital now as the world begins to open up. It will be really exciting to see how everything falls in, whether it will be a persistent opening or whether it just explodes in the autumn (?).

Yes, imagine how much you have been able to save during the pandemic. I would rather have spent the money, I must say. It's funny that Renovation is in fifth place, because I remember the queues at the DIY stores last year. Both summer houses and ordinary homes were being renovated. So the money was spent then, yet renovations are so high up....

It is probably so for many! We have instead lost income while investing ... Can also agree with the renovation, renovation has been popular during the pandemic!!!
