A thousand-year-old chicken egg has been unearthed in Israel

During the excavation of an ancient latrine pit from the Islamic period (about 1,000 years ago), archaeologists from the Israel Antiquities Authority in Yavne found something amazing: an intact... chicken eggs. The large-scale archaeological excavations have uncovered an extensive and diverse industrial area dating back to the Byzantine period. The excavations are part of the ILA's urban development project in the area.
