We celebrated Midsummer Eve on Ringsö in Lake Mälaren, with our friends Lennart and Beata who have a summer house there. It was a quiet, comfortable and very nice day. Here is a small picture bomb!

To Ringsö by boat
Island Ring island is located in Lake Mälaren, and to get here you go to Stallarholmen in the Strängnäs municipality. To get to the rest of the island you must have your own boat.
We left already on Thursday evening, to hopefully end up in less queues, and shopped on the way with us food for the weekend. It was quite a lot! Since there is no shop on the island, it is easy to buy everything possible "just in case".
A short boat trip later we arrive at Ringsö. Lennart and Beata have acquired a smooth electric mop, so we didn't have to drag all the bags to the house. Very practical!
There were unusually many boats on Ringsö right now. Many come here to celebrate midsummer. Among other things, we saw the beautiful boat in the picture below.
Beautiful sunsets
The sunsets are often beautiful on Ringsö and we were not disappointed this time either. Already the first evening we experienced a fantastic sunset.
Some had set up a sauna on the beach, and others were swimming or having a beer at sunset. We were content to walk around and enjoy the beautiful evening.
It's really nice here. The only downside this year is that there are quite a few mosquitoes.
Midsummer lunch on the balcony
On Midsummer's Eve we took it easy with a lot of talking and many pleasant hours on the terrace. The midsummer lunch was classic with new potatoes, herring, hard bread, cheese, radishes, beer and nubbe.
Walk on the island
In the afternoon there was a walk on the island. Sometimes midsummer celebrations with midsummer pole and dance are organised, but not this year. However, we met many weekend celebrants who sat outside their cottages, walked or drove around with their quad bikes.
Barbecue dinner
In the evening there was a barbecue dinner with pork loin, grilled vegetables and homemade potato salad. Soooo good!
A lovely Midsummer's Eve on Ringsö.
It was a relaxed and lovely Midsummer's Eve at Ringsö, and we are now staying for the weekend. How did you celebrate Midsummer this year?

What a wonderful Midsummer weekend you had! We have resumed our celebrations with good friends on the shores of Lake Vänern after last year's break.
How wonderful to see friends and acquaintances again!

That sounds wonderful! Yes, nice to be able to meet friends and acquaintances! We're still not fully vaccinated, so we're cautious, but we'll meet some people.

How long did you say you were staying on the island? I mean, given all the bags, that is. I hope there was mosquito spray in one of the bags anyway.
Lovely pictures from RIngsö:-)
