Puh what summer heat! It is absolutely fantastic, but also a bit exhausting. We're trying to balance life while enjoying the summer and houseboat life, and planning an upcoming trip abroad. Happy Friday!

Nice evening with share saving tips and festive dinner
Last weekend we were invited to visit Peter's son Robin and his wife Alexandra, along with our friends Lennart and Beata. It all started with Robin and Alexandra mentioning that they would like to have share saving tips. In another context, Lennart said that it was a bit sad that no one was interested in his share saving tips ...
We decided to merge, which was very successful. The top picture is from the walk from us to Robin and Alexandra. The pictures below are from the absolutely fantastic dinner we were invited to. Lennart and Beata's 9-year-old granddaughter, who accompanied us, remarked that "it was like a restaurant", and we could only agree.
- Appetiser: Creamy asparagus soup with prawns and red rum
- Main course: Truffle pasta with salami
- Dessert: Ice cream with churned butter on some kind of crunchy wafer
Hot summer days
The rest of the week we have been breathing in the summer heat. It's amazing with the sun, the blue sky, all the little boats and SUPs gliding by, and all the summer sounds of people jumping and splashing in the water. To living in a houseboat in this situation is of course absolutely fantastic!
Men (can you say that word in this context?) It's hard to get anything done in the heat. We have all the windows open, drink water, rest ... but it doesn't help. We are totally exhausted and have zero energy. Occasionally I (Helena) also get a headache from the heat. Ok, enough complaining! The is at the same time absolutely marvellous!
Upcoming press trip - to a new country
Now there are only a few days left. We are about to embark on the first "proper" press trip abroad in a very long time. The trip is to a country where we have never been before, so it will be exciting. Check back here on Tuesday to find out more!
Best this week
Despite tiredness and lack of energy, it is fantastic to experience a real high summer in Sweden! Now that our FREEDOMtravel Magazine Of course, it's also something we can actually relax from. And we have taken the opportunity to enjoy good food! What has been the best part of your week?
The week ahead
During the coming week we will be travelling abroad. We will report a little on the blog, but alternate with ready-made posts from the Sweden trip (since the press trip schedule is so packed). Don't miss checking in here during the week!

It has been a hot week and in my opinion absolutely in the hottest team - Nice to live by the water / on the quay so that the air moves a little more. Best of the week? That I am now on a work trip to the beautiful High Coast with a cloudless Friday and + 22 degrees and we have a nice programme ahead of us.
Wishing you a nice weekend and a pleasant journey.

WOW! What food! Looked really good 🙂 .
Oh, and a cliffhanger... I don't like cliffhangers, but I guess I'll have to be careful. Hope it will be a nice trip in any case 🙂 .
The best thing this week has been the little mini-trip we made with an overnight stay in Ibi. It is so nice to have some freedom of movement again! But of course with continued caution.
Have a happy Friday!

It will be exciting to hear where you are going!
The best thing this week was to see the second shot in the vaccine passport yesterday morning. Today we cross the border to Norway and this weekend (and a couple of weeks ahead) we'll be hanging out with loved ones we haven't seen for at least a year and a half!

So nice with the vaccine passport! Peter also has one, but I have to wait a little longer before I can take injection no. 2. Wishing you a really nice trip to Norway!

Well, if you're going to stay in the "city" when it's this hot, living on a boat is the dream!

It's really not bad! But even here it gets hot actually. But a cross draft and a little wind from the water is not bad 😉 .

There seems to be a lot of summer heat in Sweden, about the same temperature as in Spain, but here it is a normal temperature for July.
If you have to work outside in the heat it's awful, otherwise I just stay in the shade all day and go for an early morning walk and do everything else that needs to be done then, closing windows and doors as best I can and drawing the blinds. Many people here also have AC, as it is usually so hot here. Eating dinner late A different way of life and a different habit here. Siesta is not a bad idea in summer.
Interesting to see where you go! Happy travelling!

Helena says:
It is true as you say that you are more used to the heat in Spain, and better equipped, Here we are probably better equipped for the cold instead ... 😉 Doing things early is wise and siesta is nice! I understand the idea of eating late but find it difficult, often I lose my appetite if it's late ... Maybe it's about habits (or that I'm tired in the evening ;)).

What fun with a trip abroad and a new country as well. It must feel like a real adventure after years of restoration. Our whole week has been really fun as we have been on a "golf tour", HolmLooserTouren, with Jakob and Yvonne. We have had a lot of fun in the lovely weather!

The food in all the pictures looked divinely good:-) Laughed at Lennart and Peter in their Hawaiian shirts - hahaha:-) Oh how did it go with the savings tips then;-)
It will be fun to read which country you will visit - exciting. Finally, you seem to be back in business, just like the rest of the travel industry.
