Finnair is investing heavily in Sweden - increased access to Asia and the USA
Finnish airline Finnair sees international opportunities in the Swedish market and is establishing a new base at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. At the same time, it is launching three new long-haul routes for the winter season, to Bangkok, Phuket and Miami. Arlanda-Bangkok will operate 5-7 times/week, Arlanda-Phuket 1-3 times/week and Arlanda-Miami 2-4 times/week.
Swedavia participates in case study of electric flight route between Umeå and Åre Östersund.
Swedavia is part of the project "Fossil-free aviation in northern Sweden - an implementation study", which has now been approved by the Swedish Energy Agency and is financed with SEK 9.5 million. One part of the project is a case study of an electric flight line between Umeå Airport and Åre Östersund Airport. The goal is to map the conditions for green aviation and review sustainable value chains, as well as investigate the conditions at the airports for introducing fossil-free fuels.

The King and Queen opened the 'Glazed' exhibition at Solliden Palace.
Recently, the exhibition "Glazed" opened at the Solliden Castle with four of Classicum's greenhouses and orangeries. This is the seventh year in a row that Solliden Palace is hosting a garden of ideas exhibition at Gustaf V's old croquet court. Four well-known personalities, Gunnel Carlson, Karin Fransson, Lotta Sjöberg and Karl-Fredrik "from Eklaholm" Gustafsson, will inspire visitors by decorating each greenhouse in their own unique way.
Reflection of the week
When we talk about the Göta Canal, we remember last summer's Motorhome trip along the Göta Canal with joy. What a great trip! The only "dramatic" thing that happened was that a dog fell in during the lockage - but it was fished out by the lock keepers.

Daniel on FlyingDryden says:
Exciting with all the flight news and if it opens for electric flights between Östersund and Umeå, I will definitely book a ticket and test.
Otherwise, I look forward to Finnair's long-haul establishment at ARN with three A350s! First and foremost because it will be a new alternative to the east, but also because it may put pressure on the other airlines. I prefer to fly Star Alliance because I am gold there but on the other hand I have never flown with Finnair so I have to test it in the future.
