The site in Valdemarsvik's guest harbour - this was the last stop on our month-long motorhome trip in southern Sweden. This site is beautifully located and has very good service.

A month-long motorhome trip in southern Sweden
Finally, it was time to end the month-long motorhome trip in southern Sweden. And what a great trip it was! Below you can see an approximate map of how we have travelled. The focus was on Skåne, Blekinge, Småland and Öland, and then a short stop in Valdemarsvik before heading home.
We blogged about the adventures during the trip, of course, but there will be a few more 'compilation' posts about the major cities. We've already written two:
A stop in Oskarshamn
On the way north we made a brief stop in Oskarshamn to meet friends, which we have told you about earlier.
We can take the opportunity to recommend the car park in Oskarshamn. We never stayed here, but it looked like a nice site, with both good service and excellent location.
Cosy in Valdemarsvik
We chose to stay in Valdemarsvik for the last night, as we knew that there is a campsite with a beautiful location by the water here. We visited the site in 2009 (when we were almost completely new to this with a motorhome!) and already liked the place.
In the summer, Valdemarsvik attracts tourists who want to experience the lovely environment, and also the nearby Gryt archipelago. We did not have time to look around so much this time, but we will gladly come back!
Pitches in Valdemarsvik guest harbour
Just as we remembered it, the campsite in Valdemarsvik's guest harbour is very beautiful, with the cliffs behind and the water and boats right in front. However, the site had developed a lot over the years.
There are many places and a very fresh and modern service centre with toilets, showers and even washing machines. You pay the fee in a vending machine and if we remember correctly, we paid SEK 200 for a day.
On part of the site there is also a special emptying station where you can empty both grey water and black water. Very practical! However, please note that the emptying station is not open during the winter.
See more in the neighbourhood
From Valdemarsvik it is close to the Gryt archipelago, where KustCamp Ekön is located, and it is also not so far to the Sankt Anna archipelago. We can also recommend a visit to charming Söderköping and interesting Stegeborg. If you head south instead, you can head to the five-star campsite Västervik Resort.

Role o Carina says:
Valdemarsvik is a nice site, we went all the way out to Fyrudden and stood there!
Was probably 2011 we were there, right out by the sea we stood at a boat harbour!
We don't know if it is still there today, but it was nice.
Take care....

BP says:
Like the campsite with the "squares". Prefer stone to grass or sand, so there is no risk of the motorhome sinking when it has rained.

We visited Valdemarsvik last summer. Very nice with many old wooden boats I want to remember. We then continued to Loftahammar
and stood in the marina. In the forest next door there were large fine blueberries that we picked and ate for the breakfast yoghurt.
