Record number of pets in hotels this summer

Work at home and restrictions have meant that many Swedes have invested in pets during the pandemic. This can be seen not least in Swedish hotels, where the number of hotel guests with fur, feathers or scales increased explosively during June, July and August. Almost 10,000 pets stayed at Scandic's Swedish hotels during the summer, a record increase of 84% compared to the summer of 2020. These are mainly European countries, but also, for example, Australia, Japan, Canada and the United States. New Zealand.

Reflection of the week

Now it feels like a lot of travelling will start again, although there will certainly be a focus on less far-flung destinations for a while. Pets in hotels? Smart of Scandic to attract new groups when many of the foreign guests did not show up!
