Lilla Napoli in Falkenberg is the pizzeria for those who want to experience an authentic Neapolitan pizza, baked with carefully selected ingredients and lots of love. Eating a pizza in this shabby shack is not only delicious - it's an experience you don't want to miss!

Little Napoli
Even before we arrived in Falkenberg, we had read about the pizzeria Lilla Napoli, which was written about here and there and praised in the White Guide. But it was only when we talked to the staff at one of the town's museums that we realised that we had to book a dough the day before (and during high season maybe weeks in advance) to have a chance to actually try the pizza. It is very popular to eat at Lilla Napoli in Falkenberg!
Lilla Napoli is located at Halmstadvägen 1, near the Vallarna open-air theatre in Falkenberg.
Little Napoli - great pizza in a crappy shack
Lilla Napoli in Falkenberg is not for those who want to eat in polished and flashy premises where everything is perfect. The building that houses the pizzeria looks like an abandoned and almost ready for demolition barracks. But you don't come here for the building - you come for the pizza!
The guys who run Little Napoli, Besmir Balaj and Ville Ilola, have poured their hearts into the quest for the perfect Neapolitan pizza, and it shows. After several trips to the birthplace of Neapolitan pizza, Naples, and a deep dive into the noble art of pizza making, you can now taste the results.
We will close the pizzeria immediately if the dough is not good.
lillanapoli.se
On the restaurant's website, you can read about the carefully selected ingredients and the time-consuming process of making the dough ("We will close the pizzeria if the dough is not good"). For those who want to travel to the home of Neapolitan pizza, there is also a guide to Naples with tips on pizzerias worth visiting. You can also buy the guys' book here: "Pizza Napoletana - The quest for a perfect Neapolitan pizza in the home oven, converted grill and wood-fired oven".
Ordering pizza at Little Napoli - how to do it
How do you go about trying the infamous Neapolitan pizzas at Lilla Napoli? Well, you can come to the restaurant for profit and loss, but chances are very high that the doughs for the day are booked up. A much better idea is to check out the restaurant website and click on 'Book pizza here'.
You can then book the number of pizzas, the desired time and whether you want to sit in the restaurant or take the pizza with you. We booked at 11:38 the next day and were informed that we would be there at 11:28.
Our visit to Little Napoli
We arrived about the time the pizzeria opened for the day, and after only a short while there was a large collection of people queuing outside. Everyone in the queue had a booked time and a sign outside the restaurant said "All dough is booked!".
When it was our turn to enter, we got to choose from a small number of pizzas on the menu. Pizzas with a red number were with tomato sauce and white number pizzas without tomato sauce. We both went for a number four, with salami, and a number two, with salami. non-alcoholic beer. For those who prefer wine with their pizza, there is also a wine list, with plenty to choose from.
Payment is made at the table, by Swish. You fill in a slip of paper and calculate the cost yourself. For the sake of simplicity, all pizzas cost SEK 95.
What about the pizza - how did it taste?
We have to say that we had high expectations after everything we read, but it's also nice to say that those expectations were met, and by far.
The Neapolitan pizza is a bit different from what we are used to in Sweden. It's soft, fluffy, a little "flabby" and has a larger crust. The pizza is also more stripped down in terms of ingredients, and on the pizza you only find things that "fulfil a clear purpose". Mmm ... fantastic!!!
More to buy at Little Napoli
If you want to try making your own pizza at home, you can also buy the right ingredients. At the restaurant you will find the right pizza flour, olive oil, oregano and Gustarosso tomatoes.

This has been on my wish list for a long time but they must be crazy about pizza in Falkenberg. TV chef Lisa Lemke also has a popular place.

Yes, we saw that there was another pizzeria that was written about! Didn't realise it was a TV chef though, interesting! As for the vineyard, I think I know which one you are thinking of 🙂 We were past a short turn, and there will be a report on vineyards later (have not had time to write about the ones we visited in Skåne yet).

Ditte says:
Fun concept! I've tried similar in Naples but then you didn't order any dough and there were three fillings to choose from. But it was good.
I understand that you were satisfied.

Helena says:
Yes, I understand that the "fillings" are a bit more simple in the home of pizza. Glad you tried it in Naples!

It was then a completely new concept / thinking! Think Little Napoli was in the TV series "Falkenberg forever". Love such places that are not one in the crowd. Fun of course that you approved the pizza too: -)

Helena says:
So? That's interesting! I haven't heard of Falkenberg forever, but maybe it's because we don't watch TV that often? 😉

What a pizza place! Looked very good. Was it made with sourdough? I find that extra tasty!
Keep up the good work.

Lena - good for the soul says:
Those pizzas are so good. We are actually blessed with such a pizzeria just a stone's throw away. The restaurant at the golf club, which is only a kilometre away, has only such pizzas. So good!
