We continue our motorhome journey along the west coast of Sweden and have reached the north-west corner of Skåne. Today we offer some reflections and thoughts from the trip. Happy Friday!
Table of contents
1. it's great to meet motorhome people (and other travellers)!
So oh what fun it is to be on the road and meet motorhome people and others who are travelling. There has been a lot of talk at the pitches and a lot of exchange of tips. Very nice!
2. a whole gang seems to be heading southwards
Many of those we met were travelling south. More than one couple was travelling to Germany, another to the Netherlands and another couple to Croatia. Others say they are waiting a little longer, but it is clear that many are keen to travel abroad again.
3. Wow, how time flies! How are we going to make it?
We thought that we had a fairly long time to discover the west coast of Sweden, and some people even said that "you can drive that distance quite quickly", but now that we are looking for exciting things to see and do, travelling takes time. We may not be able to go as far as we had planned ...
4. Western Skåne has a lot to offer - with great variety.
One of the reasons it takes time is that western Skåne has so much to offer. And what a variety! There have been island visits, castle visits, city walks, museums, wine tastings, nature reserves and all sorts of other things. Some of it we have had time to write about:
5. Managing the online shop from the campervan works well (despite a few minor mishaps).
We manage web shops from the motorhome, and it works well! Many of the products are shipped via dropshipping (i.e. someone else packs and ships), and for other products we carry a little bit of everything in the campervan. To manage deliveries, we also have packaging materials and printers, and we are constantly looking for new PostNord business centres to deliver.
And then there's the human factor ... We missed packing one of the product boxes (probably still at home somewhere?) so we've had to temporarily put that item in as "out of stock" ...
Another small mishap was that we accidentally packed and shipped products with the caravan motif to a customer who ordered with caravan motif ... According to our new routine, it's not just a double check but a double-double-double check! And yes, the customer has got the right product now!
Best this week
The best part of this week is, of course, being on the road and doing what we like best - discovering destinations and telling people about them! Helsingborg was a nice experience, as was Sofiero Castle. In addition, we have had some interesting things, which we have not had time to tell you about yet! Your turn ... what can you highlight as positive from your week?
The week ahead
We will continue to discover northwest Skåne, before it is time to roll into Halland. Here on the blog you can of course follow the journey! If you also want to see some here and now pictures and film reels, you can also follow us on Instagram at @freedomtravelnews.

It looked a bit cold there in the header picture 😉 .
The best thing about the week is that we are also on a roll, but without the house. Hotels work with it 🙂 I was extra happy that we have a small car when we would drive to the hotel in Córdoba. Hujedamig so crowded! 🙂
Have a continued happy weekend!

Great that you are also on the road, and with a car that works in the narrow alleys! 🙂

There is a lot to see and discover in Sweden if you start lifting a few stones here and there. We have a fantastic country and if you can't make it to Bohuslän this year, it will certainly be there next year too.
We ourselves are so happy to be on the foreign roll again even though we promised ourselves not to go to Germany during their holiday period and now perhaps more Germans are out than before when they basically had to stay at home last year. Pitches and campsites are overcrowded so a bit of luck is needed ....

Yes, we think so too. Maybe it will be Bohuslän at another time! Wow, is it crowded on the pitches there? I thought that they have so many places, but of course, they are on holiday now and many are still in Germany....

Sweden certainly has a lot to offer in different ways. And I think it's important to take time to absorb what you see and experience. It really feels like you are doing that.
The best part of this week has been meeting friends and finally getting to Tivoli Park and Bergshamra village in Solna, lunches with friends and some fun planning for upcoming travel jobs.
Wishing you a continued good journey.

Yes, we think we would rather take a little more time here, and then we can save other things for another year if that happens! Fun with Tivoli Park and Bergshamra village, it was new acquaintances for me even though it is close!

You make a nice trip, fun to read about the places ¨through your eyes¨ We are bad at travelling in southern Sweden and the west coast, will have to sharpen up, because there is undeniably a lot to look at.
Have a nice trip and weekend.

We haven't travelled much in this part of Sweden either, but we agree, there is really a lot to see and discover.

Hi Helena and Peter! When I cycled my little daily round down the harbour this evening (we live in Skälderviken's community), I discovered to my delight that you were standing with the motorhome there. Welcome! I have been following you for many years and must say that it is not only a great pleasure to read your stories - but I am impressed by your level of ambition and the knowledge you possess that allows you to maintain this high level. So I just wanted to say Thank you. Many greetings Jan Roth.

Hi Jan!!! How nice and funny that you write! And how happy we are with your nice words!!! Such things really warm us up and make it even more fun to continue! Aha, so you live here in the neighbourhood. A nice place to stay here, we must say!

Nice to see that Henke Larsson's statue has not been vandalised. Zlatan's fine statue was not long-lived if you say so.
I also like the yellow bench in Landskrona - different. Hope it is not alone there but has some "friends" in town.

The best thing this week is that the motorhome is back from the workshop and the "floor transplant" that was needed. Now we move into it again in a few weeks and hope for two wonderful months in Germany before the season is over!
