Husvagn & Husbilsmässa 2021 is currently taking place at Elmia in Jönköping. Now that the usual large fair, Elmia Husvagn Husbil, is cancelled, the producers KABE and Adria have taken the opportunity to arrange their own fair.

Caravan & Motorhome Fair 2021 - with KABE and Adria
For nine days between 4 and 12 September, Husvagn & Husbilsmässa 2021 will showcase vehicles from KABE, Adria, Affinity and Sun Living, as well as a small number of accessories from Kama Fritid in particular. Tickets are purchased via Tickster - but if you can't make it, you can also follow our reports over the next few days!
The fair is organised only in the A-hall, so it is a much smaller fair than we are used to. Despite this, it was really fun and interesting to come here. Among other things, we had a chat with Johan Skogeryd, CEO of Adria, and Pia Wienz Karlsson, advertising manager at KABE. Several knowledgeable sellers also offered a tour of both motorhomes and caravans. We also got to test drive a new KABE with a Mercedes chassis!
Five highlights from the Caravan & Motorhome Show 2021
We start by presenting five highlights from the show. We will then report on motorhomes and caravans from the show over the next few days.
1. KABE Estate - new more stylish entry-level caravan
A first look at KABE's new entry-level caravans called "Estate". These are the wagons that were previously called "Classic", but have now been given a major refresh and a new, more modern look. On the outside, the wagons have been fitted with smooth sheet metal instead of a ball-bearing frame.
Inside, most things have been renewed. Among other things, the design has become a little more "clean" and modern compared to before. The photos below are from Estate 600 XL. Of course, the wagons in the series are available in different sizes and designs.
2. KABE motorhomes with Mercedes chassis - we tested!
When it comes to KABE's motorhomes, you can't help but notice that a number of them now have Mercedes chassis, which gives a stylish and slightly exclusive impression. But it's not just about looks, it's also about driving behaviour.
At Husvagn & Husbilsmässa 2021, if you book a time, it is possible to test drive one of the new Mercedes cars. Naturally, we took the chance! Peter was allowed to test drive together with a sidekick who encouraged him to take turns by accelerating, taking sharp curves and driving over gravel and road sections that were patched and repaired.
What a great driving experience! The ride is smooth and quiet, and the campervan floats on the road. It feels more like driving a car than a motorhome. Great shifting and a fun driving experience. We can dream about this at night!
3. Alpina caravans - completely new design
At Adria, the new version of the Alpina caravans is noticeable. These have not changed much over the years, but now they have changed almost everything. The exterior features include an enlarged panoramic window, a larger loading hatch, led strips for exterior lighting, new rims, a 60 cm door, rear led lights and new brake lights.
Inside, there are possibly even more changes, and we were fascinated by the extent to which customers have actually been listened to. They've freshened up the design, but also fixed lots of little details that make life easier on a daily basis.
The clever little folding sink used to be prone to leaks, as the cables followed the sink up and down, causing them to fray or jump apart. This has been solved by letting the water flow directly into a container, and only then into pipes. No more problems with leaks!
Other examples of smart solutions and new designs include adjustable headrests in the sofa group, 6 USB sockets in each trolley, a new display, longer beds, smart hooks on the cabinets, a grille for the air gap to avoid dropping things behind the cabinets, a portable rechargeable lamp, cabinet doors with more matte colours, new worktops and a wooden instead of plastic top over the sink.
4. Twin Sport - flatbed with a pop-up roof
An exciting novelty from Adria is a flatbed named "Twin Sport". This vehicle is 6.36 metres long, has four beds and a maximum weight of 3.5 tonnes or 4.25 tonnes. The most special and eye-catching feature is, of course, the pop-up roof, which sleeps two people. When folded, the roof tent only adds 20 cm to the roof and is barely noticeable.
When you look up at the pop-up roof, you'll find a cosy crawl-in where two people can sleep, as well as a lamp and a USB socket. We liked this spot and this solution! It's worth bearing in mind that it's only suitable for sleeping here when the temperatures are milder, but manufacturers are looking at materials that will retain heat better.
5. Sunliving C-Series - a cross between a motorhome and a camper van
The fifth and final spotlight is on Sunliving's C Series. So far, it may not be much of a series - there is only one motorhome in the series - but more may come in the future. What is exciting about this series is that it is aimed at the target group who think that a flatbed is a little too small - but that a semi-integrated motorhome is a little too big. Here they have tried to create a middle ground.
The C65 SL motorhome is 2.12 metres wide, which means it is narrower than a regular motorhome, and only slightly wider than a flatbed/van. Like other Sun Living motorhomes, the design is a little simpler and the focus is on function. In this model there are 2+1 beds and at the dining table there is a smart little pull forward seat, which can be pushed into the wall so it is not noticeable at all when you don't need it.
