Sweden relaxes many restrictions
The government has developed a plan for how and when the restrictions imposed in Sweden and the advice and recommendations given to the public during the pandemic can be adapted and fully lifted. It is now time to return to a more normal everyday life step by step. Stage four is scheduled for 29 September and involves, among other things:
- Participation fees for public gatherings and public events are removed.
- The participation fee for private gatherings in, for example, rented premises is removed.
- The remaining restrictions on licensed premises will be removed.
- The Public Health Agency's advice on working from home is removed and a gradual return to the workplace can begin.
Announcement of lifting of restrictions boosts travel bookings
The decision that Sweden will soon enter phase four of the reopening has boosted travel bookings. For the first time since the start of the pandemic, sales of winter travel within Europe are at normal levels, TUI reports. Vaccinated travellers and children under 12 can now more or less travel as usual within Europe. Children 12-15 years old can also travel, but need a negative covid 19 test. Most popular travel destinations right now according to TUI:
- Gran Canaria
- Cyprus
- Greece
- Tenerife
- Lanzarote
Swedes expected to return to holidaying in exotic countries soon
Swedes will soon be able to holiday in countries such as Thailand and Mexico, TUI writes in a press release. As of 1 October, this will be possible as the Swedish Foreign Ministry lifts its advice for travel outside the EU. The travel company saw a 30 percent increase in traffic to its site on Friday afternoon. For TUI, it is primarily the sale of trips to three major destinations that are affected by the decision: Thailand, Mexico and Cape Verde.
Skalman's Flying School opens in Teddy's World at Kolmården.
When Kolmården opens in spring 2022, a brand new attraction for the very youngest guests will be ready in Teddy's World - Skalman's Flying School. The attraction takes every little brave pilot on a flight in one of Skalman's strange cars, 60 cm above the ground at 5.6 kilometres per hour. Nearby, children will be able to visit the Skalman Workshop. In addition, the Vargens Korv food kiosk is being converted into a replica of the Wolf's House. To accommodate all the new experiences, Teddy's World is being expanded by 1,200 square metres.
This autumn, you can travel to Copenhagen by train with SJ.
SJ is now launching the Tågluffarkort autumn. The Tågluffarkort is valid for seven consecutive days and gives access to unlimited travel on SJ's trains. The travel period runs between 25 October and 14 November. This autumn, the card is also valid for travel to Copenhagen, enabling travellers to combine visits to Sweden with city life in Denmark. The price is SEK 1895 for adults, SEK 1495 for pensioners and SEK 1295 for young people/students. The card is personal and valid for travelling in 2nd class on day trains and in 2nd class seat and berth on night trains.
Reflection of the week
Now we are really starting to move towards more 'normal' times, with restrictions lifted and better opportunities for travelling abroad. Of course, many will take the opportunity to travel to warmer latitudes, but one wonders if we have also acquired some new habits during this time ...

Discussed your reflection with some friends today. We were 6 women, three of whom have lost the desire to travel. They are perfectly happy here at home and do not have the slightest desire to travel abroad. Not within Sweden either. All three "blame" the pandemic and the restrictions. Strangely enough, they were not at all negative, just happy with their lives at home.
Well, you're setting a good example and living the good life in the Czech Republic right now;-)

Interesting! Yes, that may be the case for some people, that they have discovered that they are happy in Sweden, or at home 😜!
