Then we were home again, after a wonderful trip to Tunisia. We are full of impressions (so many experiences in Tunisia) and is busy sorting photos and planning reports. At the same time, life at home has started with work, meetings and events. Happy Friday!

A wonderful week in Tunisia
We have really had a wonderful and exciting week in Tunisia. Firstly, it is really nice to experience sun, heat and light this time of year! Secondly, it has been interesting to discover a completely new country for us, with everything from ancient antiquities to camel rides and filming locations for Star Wars.
By the way, in connection with the pictures below, we were asked if you have to wear headgear in Tunisia, and the answer to that question is nixpix. We bought these one day because it is perfect to be able to protect your face from swirling sand when riding a quad bike. And then maybe we thought it was little stylish too, haha.
Travelling with or without a motorhome ... or both?
We received a comment from a reader who wrote that she misses our focus on motorhomes and camping. We promise that we not has left it, but as usual we alternate motorhome trips with other trips. It would have been very exciting to take the campervan to Tunisia, but it's a project that requires much more time (i.e. longer time off work), so that's for another time.
We took the opportunity to check out a (very nice and well maintained!) campsite in Douz, with all the services you need. In addition, we looked up a list over several campsites in Tunisia.
Covid test (how complicated can it be?)
At the end of the Tunisia trip, I (Helena) started to feel a cold. My symptoms were mild (and I am fully vaccinated against covid-19) but in these times it still feels annoying to have the slightest tendency to catch a cold. When we got home, I wanted to get tested. But phew, how complicated it was!
I used Region Stockholm's app "Alltid Öppet" and 1177 and managed (after much effort and trouble) to book a test to be picked up at a pharmacy at a certain time. Peter (who had no symptoms) collected the test, I registered it online and followed all the instructions, but realised that there was no fluid in the test tube.
Back at the pharmacy, they found that they had missed the liquid, and that the test had to be thrown away... We got a new test and I repeated the whole procedure, but now suddenly the test could not be registered because my original booking was "cancelled". It was also not possible to make a new booking, because all the times that week were... gone! Even test number 2 had to be thrown away, and the pharmacy could only apologise ...
What now? The solution was to buy a home test for SEK 80 and do the procedure a third time. The result was: negative, i.e. no covid-19. So, Happy Friday!
Best this week
The best thing this week is of course the wonderful trip to Tunisia, what else? What can you highlight as positive from your week?
The week ahead
For the next week we plan to hang out at home in the houseboat. There will be a lot of work, meetings and events, so it feels like an exciting week. Then we plan to take the motorhome for a drive. We will stay within Sweden, and it will probably be the last motorhome trip this year. More about that later! On the blog there will first be some more reports from Tunisia!

Yes what a hassle with the test, but nice that you did not get Covid then!
We have never been to Tunisia, no country that has attracted us either 🙂.
Take care....Happy Friday....

Yes help how complicated it became! Must admit that I was annoyed for a while, but afterwards you get to laugh 😉 We had not thought much about Tunisia before either actually, but we were pleasantly surprised and are happy to go back! Wish you a nice weekend!

Very much looking forward to more posts from Tunisia. I think you showed "non-touristy" environments, and I like that.
A whole Arab world can hardly be wrong. Think of the headgear there. The boys wear it because of the sand. Women often wear the niqab and burka, but for a completely different reason.
That the Covid test must be so complicated. They changed the rules for the test while you were in Tunisia, but still. The main thing is that the test was negative.

Glad you are looking forward to more posts! We travelled by car through a large part of Tunisia so it feels like we saw both touristy and very everyday places, both cities and countryside. It was very interesting!
In the desert it's nice to have something to protect you from the sand. Otherwise, in the cities, the veil was fairly common, but I don't think we saw much niqab or burqa.
Aha, I haven't really had time to check the rules for the test? Anyway, it felt good to do because I have a physical meeting next week (already feeling better, but still).
