Charter organiser invests heavily in Jönköping

Delta returns to Arlanda and flies Stockholm-New York in 2022
US airline and SkyTeam member Delta Air Lines is returning to Sweden and Stockholm Arlanda Airport in the summer of 2022, launching a daily direct service to New York JFK Airport. The seasonal route runs between 2 June and 28 October, offering same-day connections to more than 40 cities across the US from Delta's JFK hub. Liseberg is the first theme park in the world to be certified according to the ISO 20121 sustainability standard.
Liseberg is the first amusement park in the world to receive ISO 20121 certification - an important milestone in the endeavour to become a world leader in sustainability in the industry by 2025. ISO 20121 is a standard that covers all three dimensions of sustainability: environmental, social and economic. The certification means that external auditors annually monitor how well Liseberg manages its operations in a sustainable manner. Liseberg's goal is that by 2025 the organisation will, among other things:
- offer a 100% climate-neutral Liseberg visit
- have at least 80% of ecolabelled food products.
- be one of Sweden's 10 most equal workplaces.
- reduce food waste by 5% each year
- reduce the use of disposable items each year
- increase sustainable travel to the park
How Swedes view the use of breathalysers during the festive season
According to a new study conducted by Norstat on behalf of the company Alcosense, 52 per cent say they plan to drink alcohol during the Christmas celebrations. At the same time, less than one in ten Swedes have a breathalyser at home and only 41% say they would use one if they had one the day after a Christmas party. However, almost half say that they would like the person they are driving with to use a breathalyser. Here are some tips from Alcosense for Christmas driving:
- Plan your trip so that you don't have to travel at peak traffic times.
- Keep your distance from other road users
- Keep your speed and adapt it to the road conditions
- Use breathalysers
- Keep a snow shovel and scraper in the car
- Stay rested and don't stress
Asteroid hunting at Cosmonova on Christmas holidays
The Natural History Museum is open for Christmas holidays from 25 December to 9 January, 10-18. 25 December is the premiere of the film "Asteroid Hunters" at Cosmonova - a film about asteroids and ingenuity to save our planet. The Christmas holidays also offer fun with Dino-Doris - the museum's own dinosaur enthusiast. Meet her both in the Lab at the museum and at home on the sofa. For those interested in photography, the museum recommends the exhibition "The Thin Line", about the animals of Africa.
The Nordic Museum's castles and courtyards will reopen in summer 2022.
The Foundation Nordic Museum will reopen Julita Farm, Tyresö Castle and Svindersvik for the 2022 summer season. Julita farm will be open daily from 1 June to 31 August. On Tyresö Castle and Svindersvik will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 28 May to 4 September. On 11 March, the exhibition "Come to Norden" opens at the Nordic Museum. The exhibition offers a visual dream journey through the Norden of travel posters from 1890-1960. The public successes "The Paris of the North" and "The Arctic - while the ice melts" continue.
Reflection of the week
It's great that tourism companies are investing in sustainability and that they see this as important and necessary in the future. It is also positive to have faith in the future for 2022 - now we just have to hope that the virus stays in check.

It's nice to see a focus on Jönköping as a departure point. It remains to be seen what will happen with travelling in connection with the increased spread of Omikron.
Great that the Nordic Museum is now planning to open Svindersvik, Julita and Tyresö again. Nice all three .

Yes, we have learnt not to take anything for granted, in connection with the viruses ... A little hopeful at least that people do not seem to get as sick from the omicron. I agree that Julita and Tyresö are nice. Have not been to Svindersvik, it may be on occasion! 🙂

Nice with the investment in Jönköping as a departure point. I guess it is more economical for airlines to fly from "smaller" airports than to invest in Arlanda and Landvetter. Jönköping has a fairly large catchment area. Fun with this investment!
