Viking Line requires covid certificates for Viking Cinderella

Viking Line is introducing a requirement for a vaccination certificate or a recent negative COVID-19 test for travellers on the Swedish-flagged Viking Cinderella from 3 December. For cruises with Viking Cinderella from Stockholm, the following applies from 3 December and until further notice for all travellers over the age of 18:

  • Vaccination certificate after two doses of vaccine, alternatively
  • Certificate of recovery from COVID-19 (within the last 6 months), alternatively
  • A negative COVID-19 PCR test result (maximum 72 hours old) or a negative COVID-19 antigen test result (maximum 48 hours old).

  1. Tel Aviv, Israel
  2. Paris, France and Singapore

Toilet brush in focus when marketing Sweden abroad

By showing the originals - the places - behind some world-famous IKEA products, Sweden's marketing company Visit Sweden wants to create curiosity about Sweden as a tourist destination: the biggest international campaign in a long time is now being launched. The campaign highlights destinations in all of Sweden's 21 regions, with Lake Bolmen in Småland, named after a toilet brush, playing a key role in making the campaign stand out from the noise of beautiful sunsets and dramatic coastlines that are common in destination marketing.

New survey: 8 out of 10 Swedes want to see more of Sweden

For the fourth year in a row, the Swedish Network of Destination Management Organisations (SNDMO) has conducted the Travel in Sweden survey. Compared to 2020, the results show that slightly more people have travelled in Sweden during the summer and 8 out of 10 state that they want to see more of Sweden in the future. Every second respondent (49 per cent) has chosen the option that they want to travel more in Sweden in 2022. 63 per cent also state that they think it is important to think climate-smart when choosing a trip.

Reflection of the week

Promoting Sweden with a toilet brush is a bit unusual, but why not? It's all about standing out in the noise. What do you think of the campaign?
