Last weekend there was a storm and we had an opportunity to visit Peter's brother and his wife on Blidö. Very nice! Otherwise, we are at home and work like little ants while dreaming of future trips. Happy Friday!

Storm
On Saturday, the wind picked up and the newspapers warned loudly about the approaching storm. We, who live in houseboat, are slightly obsessed with how many metres per second the wind should blow in the villages and which wine enrichment it will be, and we realised that the evening in the houseboat could be very uncomfortable.
We picked up loose items from kitchen counters and the like, rented a car (we only have one car). FREEDOMwhich is currently in winter storage) and drove to Peter's brother Micke on Blidö.
A trip to Blidö in the archipelago
It was perfect to go to Blidö this weekend because it was Micke's birthday, and we could take the opportunity to celebrate him.
When we don't have the motorhome with us, we usually spend the night in a small cottage right by the sea (picture below). Super cosy! Since I (Helena) always wake up early, I sat here and worked in the morning, overlooking the water.
Work, walks, good food and TV shows
The rest of the week has been at a normal pace with work, walks, good food and TV series. Peter is in a period where he wants to try new dishes, which is very nice for me, who likes to eat the food.
There will be a lot of cooking in under knowledgebut also some other things. The picture shows a Biff Rydberg with beef fillet, fried potatoes, fried onions, egg yolk and whipped cream flavoured with mustard. Very good!
Best this week
The best thing about this week is that we have been able to prepare a lot for Motorhome fair in March. We will have a bigger stand than ever - and there will be a lot going on there - so there is a lot to prepare!
We have also managed to get hold of some badly treated parts of freedomtravel.se and started updating them, which feels good. We will tell you when it is ready! Now we are wondering ... what has been the best part of your week?
The week ahead
When I read the last "Happy Friday", it said that we would publish a new city guide and try to get the third vaccine dose. None of that has happened yet... so we're trying again!
Did you miss the last Happy Friday? Read the Thanks to all the great readers!

Understand that it can be felt in a houseboat during a storm! Here in my neighbourhood, a flag blew down and went into rags, otherwise nothing.
I jumped when I read Blidö. I've actually been there once at a conference for children with liver disease and their parents. That was almost 30 years ago.
Today it is quiet here.
Have a nice and happy Friday!

Glad you were also on Blidö! Wondering where the conference was? We are there a few times a year because Peter's brother and his niece live there.

I don't know what it looks like now on Blidö, but back then there was a big yellow building and a lovely park for play and other things. The children could also fish.
Such sunny memories!

It was brave of you to leave the houseboat to its fate, maybe not the boat but the contents of the boat;-)
Glad it went well. Oh Peter's Beef Rydberg - my goodness how good it looks. Whipped cream with mustard - that was something new for me. What luck you have with a hobby chef at home. Just thank and receive:-)

We are not so worried about the boat itself, it can withstand quite a lot. Then you have to pick up anything that might fall ... and that's what we tried to do. Hobby chef at home? Yes, it's fantastic! 🙂
