What are our travel plans for 2022? Do you even dare to plan any trips? Yes, we are cautiously hopeful and planning ahead. However, our plans are still very vague. But we're happy to share these fuzzy plans with you!
Table of contents
Motorhome fairs in Sweden
Right now we have a very strong focus on Motorhome fair in Kista 18-20 March 2022. We will be there with a large stand with lots of travel inspiration and we will hold 6 (!) lectures on different destinations. You are coming, right? We hope to see you!!!
We are also planning a similar programme at Elmi Caravan Motorhome in Jönköping 7-11 September 2022. Shortly after Elmia, it is also time for a meeting with the Bürstner club where we will also participate.
Travel fair in Denmark
Many fairs have been cancelled recently, and at first we didn't dare hope that the travel fair in Denmark would happen either. Now we have learnt that the fair Holidays for all 25-27 February 2022 in Herning is happening. We haven't decided for sure yet, but we are keen to go!
Bohuslän
Last year we travelled along the west coast of Sweden. We started in Skåne and planned to follow the coast all the way to the Norwegian border. But we never got that far! There was far too much to see and discover along the way, and after the visit to the neighbouring Tjolöholm Castle we had to turn inland and head home.
Now we would like to continue the journey, from Gothenburg and northwards along the coast. We are not sure when this can happen, but it is on our wish list for 2022.
Motorhome holidays in Europe
We are also planning a longer motorhome trip in Europe, sometime in the spring and summer. Which countries can be included in this route is still quite unclear. We will almost certainly be travelling in Germany, and it could also be countries like Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Slovakia, maybe France... We'll see!
Press trips
Press trips are a question mark. We should have travelled on a press trip to Hamburg and another to Vorarlberg in Austria in January. Then it didn't happen because of you know what. It is possible that these co-operation partners will contact us again. Or perhaps there will be another press trip ...
Long journey over winter
Another plan we have - or a dream anyway - is to do a longer motorhome trip over the winter. We would like to spend the winter in a more exotic country. Tunisia perhaps? Along the way, we are open to experiences in countries like Hungary, Turkey, Greece... This itinerary, as you can see, is... very fuzzy at the moment, but it would be exciting!
What are your travel plans for 2022?
What are your travel plans for 2022? Will it be in Sweden or abroad? Have you planned in detail, or are you taking it as it comes? Are you travelling by motorhome, or by other means?
Maria / emjis says:
Fun to plan and dream! We would like to attend the fair in March! Do you think it will happen? Thinking with restrictions ...
Clearly, we can't wait to go out with the Defender! Let's see where it goes! But there will always be some mistakes and laughs along the way!
😁

Great to see you at the fair in March! Yes, we think it will happen! Of course, we can't know for sure, but now it seems that restrictions are being lifted rather than the other way round, so it feels very promising at the moment.

What wonderful fuzzy plans you have! We have Kistamässan in the plans, but will see how it feels with the pandemic and so on when that time comes. If we do not appear before, it sounds like we will meet in Borlänge in the autumn 🙂
We dream of a couple of weeks in northern Norway this summer, otherwise both plans and wishes are even more vague than yours! A lot of Sweden, family in Norway and hopefully Germany and even more of Europe.

Helena says:
Great fun if we see you in Kista! In these times, you have learned to take things as they come, but right now it feels very promising for the fair to be. But otherwise, as I said, we will see you in Borlänge if nothing else! 🙂 Lovely fuzzy plans you have too! 🙂

Sounds like you have great plans for travelling in 2022, albeit a bit fuzzy so far 🙂 .
Here I doubt that we will leave the Iberian Peninsula this year without travelling around by car (without a house 😉 ) and hotel camping. But nothing is ready or planned yet. We have to take it on the chin.
Have fun!

In these times you have learnt to take it as it comes! Wishing you nice excursions during the year!

It's great to have plans (and they can be as fuzzy as you like). We wrote about ours a couple of weeks ago. We have also targeted the Kistamässan, trains and a couple of hotel nights are booked at that time.
If you start in Gothenburg to cover Bohuslän up to Norway, you can do it for as long as you like, or you can split up and enjoy it a bit more....

Helena says:
Very fun if we meet at Kistamässan! 🙂 And yes, it is probably as you say, there is probably as much as possible between Gothenburg and the Norwegian border. We will see how it will be and what we have time for! With a motorhome you are flexible so it is so good!

We are planning a long trip in Germany, leaving Nynäshamn-Rostock on 15 June and heading slowly but surely towards the Moselle valley, it's going to be so exciting!

What a great plan! The Moselle Valley is beautiful! Wish you a nice trip!!!

So many wonderful things to look forward to. And a lot of fun to plan. We/I have dared to book two trips in spring and early summer and a third is in the planning stage. But like you, I am cautiously hopeful and keeping my fingers crossed that everything will be possible.
Hugs to you

Great that you have trips planned! I am curious about where the trips go! 🙂

Nice to read about your travel plans. Even here there are many travel plans . And different ones. It all depends on the situation with the pandemic and my health in general. I have some business trips, both within the country and outside, booked. But it is still uncertain whether they will happen. But I'm hoping.
Long journeys are in the plans and both then to travel far both in "time and space". But much is uncertain
We wait and see.

It's a bit difficult to know! I think you have gained a slightly different perspective on planning during this time? But we still think it looks reasonably bright now! 🙂

Matts Torebring says:
Yes, what we have dreamed and planned over the years. During our 18 summers in Southern Europe, we hardly ever left a country without dreaming about which country we would come to next summer. Now that the years are starting to pile up, the dream of good health is probably the most important. Sure, we still plan, but not as far away, for a trip of only 4-5 weeks. While writing my book, I've been dreaming of coming back to a handful of French châteaux.
Good luck with planning and travelling

Of course, dreams change over time! I would love to read your book on occasion! 🙂

Hi & I'm glad you want to read my book. You will find it different. Email me your address and I will send it to you.
With kind regards, Matts

Dreams are always fun. Plans are trickier. We've never planned anything, we've just "spontaneously travelled" all our lives. Every time we planned something, it didn't happen. So right now it might be smarter to "just" dream.
Have to say that a campervan trip across Europe to Tunisia is an okay dream;-)
03 February 2022 - 19:06
Helena says:
We mix and match dreams and plans. Some will surely come true, and some won't. And then maybe something else happens instead. But that's ok 😉

A motorhome trip to Tunisia sounds fantastic.
I am still too sceptical to plan any particular destination. I dream of both European destinations like Naples, Menorca and Switzerland and destinations further afield, so we'll see what's possible.

I feel like I've completely forgotten how to plan after these two years! But I do hope. I hope for a mountain trip with my parents and siblings with families this summer, I hope that our Erasmus travel (school project) will start again and I hope for a fun trip abroad with my own little family. We'll see how it all turns out!
