Motorhomes and accessories at the "Husbil Sthlm 2022" fair

The fair "Husbil Sthlm 2022 - Freedom on wheels" is over, and it's time for us to show off some of what the fair had to offer. We were of course largely busy in our own stand - and on stage - but we also had time to get around and look at motorhomes and accessories.

The "Husbil Sthlm 2022" exhibition

The fair "Husbil Sthlm 2022" was held at Kistamässan on 18-20 March. The main organisers were Autohallen husbilar, Albins husbilar, ProDob Däck & Bilservice and Skoklosters husbilar och husvagnar. In addition, many other exhibitors gathered at the fair: motorhome dealers, accessory shops, camping magazines and others.

Fully and semi-integrated motorhomes at "Husbil Sthlm 2022".

First and foremost, of course, a range of fully and semi-integrated motorhomes were on display at the show. For those who don't know, "semi-integrated" means that the living area is manufactured separately, while "fully integrated" means that the entire vehicle is produced in one piece. We took a closer look at a few, which we present here.

Carthago Chic e-line I 51 QB DA

It's always fun to check out a bigger and more luxurious motorhome model, so we took a look at a fully integrated motorhome from Carthago. And sure enough, stepping into this vehicle feels luxurious. It's all about shiny cabinet doors and stylish design.

  • Total weight: 5.5 tonnes
  • Length: 7.91 metres
  • Chassis: Mercedes
  • Number of beds: 4
  • Price: Approximately 2.26 million

Eura Mobil Contura 766 EB

We checked out a semi-integrated motorhome from Eura Mobil with a sleek black Mercedes chassis. This motorhome was also really fresh inside, with a bright design and high long beds.

  • Total weight: 4.5 tonnes
  • Length: 7.84 metres
  • Chassis: Mercedes
  • Number of beds: 2
  • Price: Approximately 1.6 million

McLouis Mc4 230

Another semi-integrated motorhome we looked at was the McLouis Mc4 230, which stood out because of its different layout. There's a U-shaped sofa at the back, which is mostly seen in caravans, and the motorhome is also equipped with two roof beds.

  • Total weight: 3.5 tonnes
  • Length: 6.59 metres
  • Chassis: Fiat
  • Number of beds: 3
  • Price: About SEK 729 000

Motorhomes, campervans and campers at 'Husbil Sthlm 2022'

The fair also featured plenty of vans (camper vans), campervans (simple camping cars) and campers (residential extensions that can be attached to the bed of a pick-up truck). Here are a few that we took a closer look at.

Karmann Mobil Dexter 570 AW

The Dexter 570 AW from Karmann Mobil is new in Sweden. The model is 4-wheel drive, under 6 metres long and equipped with long beds. This is a motorhome that may be suitable for a more adventurous couple.

  • Total weight: 3.5 tonnes
  • Length: 5.98 metres
  • Chassis: Ford
  • Number of beds: 2
  • Price: About SEK 783 000

VanTourer Urban

The VanTourer Urban is a camping vehicle of the 'campervan' type. It's a vehicle that you can use as a normal car, but where you can also stay overnight and prepare simple meals. What's special about it is that the kitchen area is mobile and can be moved out. However, there is no toilet.

  • Length: 5.14 metres
  • Chassis: Mercedes
  • Sleeping places: Pop-up roof 191 x 107.5 cm and seating area 190 x 100 cm
  • Price: About SEK 745 000

Easy Campers EC 6 SH-2

If you have, or want to get, a pick-up truck, you can combine it with a camper van. This means that you can add a camper van body whenever you wish. The body can also be left standing if you want to drive away with the vehicle. Reassembling it takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on your level of experience.

  • Weight: Approximately 750 kg
  • Sleeping places: Alcove 160 x 206 cm and seating group 92/70 x 200 cm
  • Price: Approximately SEK 459 000

Caravans on "Motorhome Sthlm 2022"

The show focused on motorhomes, and there were only a small number of caravans on display. However, we selected two to showcase here - a larger and a smaller model.

Bürstner Averso Harmony line 720 TK

We stopped at the Bürstner Averso Harmony line, as this is a long and eye-catching caravan. This particular one was a "nursery model", which means there is a room with a bunk bed, and a total of six beds.

  • Total weight: 2.5 tonnes
  • Length: 9 metres
  • Number of beds: 6
  • Price: Approximately 541 000 SEK

Easy Campers Trail

Easy Campers Trail is a small off-road trailer for year-round use. It has a kitchen in the tailgate and a cosy sleeping area inside. There is no toilet. The sales staff told us that there is a lot of interest in the trailer, especially among men who want to go fishing in the countryside.

  • Total weight: 1 tonne
  • Number of beds: 2
  • Price: Approximately SEK 259 000

BestPoint Service point for motorhomes

At the fair, in our stand, a world novelty was also shown. The "BestPoint" service station came directly from the factory to the fair and has never been shown before, neither in Sweden nor in any other country.

BestPoint is a service module that includes fresh water, toilet emptying and grey water drainage for motorhomes and caravans. As the service point is brand new, it is not yet installed anywhere, but hopefully it will soon be available in several locations around Sweden.

Accessories at Husbil Sthlm 2022

There were also plenty of different types of accessories at the fair. As usual, ProDOB, which is part of Däckteam, had a very nice stand.

Levelling system

Next door, automatic levelling systems for motorhomes and caravans from EP Hydraulics were on display. This is for those who want to make sure their caravan is in a perfectly straight position when it's time to park for the night.

Incineration toilets

We also checked out Cinderella's incinerating toilets. Installing one of these costs a pretty penny, but we can certainly understand why some people choose to do so. This way, you get an odourless toilet that you almost never have to empty - and when you do empty it, all that's left is an odourless powder that can be thrown away anywhere.

Omnia

Campingvaruhuset had a large stand with lots of different accessories. Here we talked for a while with Göran Lundén from Omnia, who was there to demonstrate the smart little mini oven. "We have a 'real' oven in our motorhome, but if you don't, this invention, which you place directly on the hob, is an optimal solution."

Many other exhibitors

In addition to these accessories, there were of course many other exhibitors, ranging from crockery to tents and outdoor furniture. A kind of "outdoor sofa" made it into the picture ...

In addition, we were there with our online shop! The most popular product in our range, during the fair, turned out to be our kitchen towels with a campervan pattern.

However, we have learnt, for the next time we are at a fair, that we should show the products in a different way. We think it's better to present a larger number of products and let the visitors look and touch them themselves, a bit more in peace. This is something new for us, and we are learning all the time!

Travel inspiration on "Motorhome Sthlm 2022"

Besides motorhomes and products, the fair wanted to focus on travel inspiration, and here we contributed as much as we could. In our destination square, we offered free brochures from eight destinations, as well as our magazine and a 'travel chat' opportunity.

The German Tourist Board was present on all days to explain and answer questions about Germany. On some days there were also representatives from Glasriket and the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions. We also held six lectures on six different travel destinations. We were satisfied and would like to organise a larger destination square next time.

In summary, we thought this was a very fun and varied fair! However, we think it is sad that several motorhome companies are starting to choose to show their vehicles in their own halls, instead of gathering at the same fair.

This means that trade fairs will be smaller and visitors will have to travel between different locations. Is this a new trend that is here to stay? What do you think about it? How do you think it will be in the future?
