Risk of travel shortages during peak summer season
There is no doubt that Swedes are eager to travel, but the travel company TUI reports that there are fewer trips than usual for those who want to travel abroad in July. According to TUI, there are almost half as many places left as in a normal year at this time. Top travel destinations right now:
Sälenfjällen launches the destination site "Sälenfjällen summer & autumn"
Sälenfjällen, northern Europe's largest mountain destination, is often associated with winter and skiing. However, the trend towards year-round activities is progressing rapidly and more and more people are investing considerable resources in the bare ground season, which lasts well into the autumn. Destination Sälenfjällen has summarised what is open and now presents the entire range on its own campaign page at sommar.salen.se.
Norwegian buys 50 Boeing 737 MAX 8
Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA has reached an agreement in principle with Boeing to purchase 50 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The agreement also includes options for an additional 30 aircraft. The 50 aircraft will be delivered between 2025 and 2028, coinciding with the expiry of the current lease periods for the aircraft and thus representing a limited expansion of the company's current fleet. The parties aim to sign the final agreement before the end of June 2022.

Lübeck invites you to a party in the streets of the old town on 10-12 June to celebrate art, culture and "lebensfreude". This year, the festival is hosted by the culturally rich Domsviertel, where the charming district is transformed into a colourful bouquet of cultural experiences.

Yes, there it is again - the ketchup effect after the pandemic. I understand that there is currently a shortage of everything - materials and staff - at most European airports. Everyone wants to go away at the same time. Yesterday, they even had to close Amsterdam's Schiphol airport, as there were so many people that security could not be guaranteed. Many staff have retrained during the pandemic, so...
BOEING 737 MAX 8 is not an aircraft I would buy after two serious incidents. I'm getting a bit of a bad vibe there...

Tip: Norrtälje is 400 years old this year and has a packed programme throughout the summer. You have connections there and know what might be interesting.
Personally, we would never even think of standing in multi-hour queues at European airports in this situation. Moreover, the pandemic is far from over, even though most people deny it. Doing like you, either driving a motorhome or travelling with your own car / overnight stays is the best thing now. But you do not come to Mallis or Greece that way 🙂
