Camp Sedmihorky
Camp Sedmihorky offers everything a camper could wish for. The Czech Republic is a real camping country - and camping is often the order of the day even for those travelling with a motorhome - so we take the opportunity to show you another great campsite in this country.
Camp Sedmihorky is located at the foot of the Hrubá Skála rock formations in the north of the Czech Republic, about 10 miles northeast of the capital city. Prague.
By motorhome, caravan or tent at Camp Sedmihorky
In general, we can say that campsites in the Czech Republic are often close to nature and cosy, but many can be relatively simple. Camp Sedmihorky has a slightly higher standard, which is evident from the fact that virtually all staff speak good English. It's nice and convenient, although it usually works perfectly well to check in even when it is a little more difficult to understand the language.
The campsite has plenty of pitches for motorhomes and caravans, as well as a good service station and a nice service centre.
One thing that is different on campsites in the Czech Republic, compared to Sweden, is that there are also always many people camping with tents.
Cottages at Camp Sedmihorky
Cottage camping is also popular in the Czech Republic, and Camp Sedmihorky is no exception. There is a wide range of cabins in different models and sizes.
Swimming and activities
The campsite is located by a lake and has a nice and popular swimming area. Plenty of other activities are also organised, and there is a daily schedule of activities for children and young people.
Cool play corner
On the second day at Camp Sedmihorky we met the manager, who told us a bit about the campsite. He wondered if we had seen the "play corner", which is located in a large nice house at the reception. We did not think that "play corner" sounded so incredibly exciting, but of course said yes to being shown around. And we must say we were surprised!
It was almost as if it felt a bit of a shame that you weren't ten years old. Then you would have loved this huge construction, full of paths, slides and cosy crawl-ins.
But yes, the manager promised that you could try it as an adult too! We were lucky enough to peek in here during hours when the play corner was not really open.
When we had finished playing, we moved on to more adult activities. We had a coffee and cake in the play corner's café, while the manager told us about the organisation. We understood that they invest intensively and work with innovations every year. Right now they have, among other things, prepared a completely new area for motorhomes and caravans, with brand new electric poles.
Breakfast and restaurants
We also got the chance to try the campsite's breakfast. Usually we eat breakfast in the motorhome, so it felt really luxurious to eat out in the sun at the small breakfast restaurant. It was good too!
At the campsite there are also several other eateries. We did not try these, but it looked nice!
Things to see and do near Camp Sedmihorky
Camp Sedmihorky is located at the foot of the Hrubá Skála rock formations, and you can walk to see the stunning area. There are also several castles and fortresses around, such as Zámek Hrubá Skála and Hrad Valdštejn. Malá Skála is also close by, where you can go canoeing and visit the Vranov Pantheon castle. We also recommend the entire Crystal Valley, with its glass art, nature and breweries.

So exciting to read about your adventures. Has it worked well without LPG.
When we were in Latvia there were also many people camping.

Glad you like to follow! Yes, tents are probably more common in some other countries! Without LPG works well as long as we have electricity. A little more complicated to cook on just a plate, but it works for a short period. However, it will be important for us to spend the night with electricity, because otherwise we can't keep the fridge running or get a coffee 😉.

Wow, how much I've missed in the last few weeks. Luckily the posts are still there so you can catch up.
The Czech Republic seems more and more interesting, I'm a bit keen to go there, even if it won't be camping for me.
Happy Saturday!

I think that the campsites you showed from the Czech Republic beat the Swedish ones by far. Much more around the campsite itself with cabins, advanced playgrounds, activities and not least restaurants including breakfast service. Almost as if you were staying in a hotel. Because of course you want to eat out and or have a beer even if you live in a motorhome/caravan.
Tent camping was probably in the 1980s. I remember that the entire Östermalm sports ground was full of tents during the summer.

Helena says:
Above all, all this service can be made more affordable! There are nice campsites in Sweden too, but they cost much more. And breakfast is hardly as common ... Yes, tent camping was probably more popular in the past! I think it may have gotten a little boost again, but it can't be compared to the Czech Republic. Here, tents are more common than motorhomes/caravans 😉.
