Elmia Husvagn Husbil back in September - interest is high
After a two-year hiatus, it's almost time for the Scandinavian Caravan Show again. "Much will remain the same with halls filled with caravans and we expect a large audience on 7-11 September," says Klas Brandt, the fair's manager. The fair in Jönköping is the largest trade fair in the Nordic region. This year the halls will be filled with hundreds of caravans and motorhomes. There will also be an Oktoberfest, dance evenings and activities for children. "Booking is now open for area 2 and there is still time to book," says Klas Brandt.
Renault Hippie Caviar Motel on display in Hannover
Last year, Renault presented Hippie Caviar Hotel. Now comes Hippie Caviar Motel, based on the new Renault Kangoo E-Tech Electric - a caravan for adventurers who want to get out into nature in a sustainable way. The show car is fully electric and designed with recycled materials. The Hippie Caviar Motel has a range of 285 km and it takes only 30 minutes to increase it by 170 km. Engine performance is 90 kW (120 hp) and is powered by a 45 kWh battery pack that can be fast-charged up to 80 kW DC. The car will be shown at the IAA Transportation in Hanover 19 September
Emissions from Viking Line ships have been reduced by a third in 15 years
Over the past 15 years, Viking Line has reduced carbon dioxide emissions from its vessels by almost a third. Environmental investments have been made both in vessels and in technology on board. Viking Glory and Viking Grace are prepared to start operating with green fuels, which will enable even carbon-neutral traffic in the future. Baltic Sea Day was celebrated on 25 August, which Viking Line marked by donating 30,000 euros from the sale of plastic bags in tax-free shops to the John Nurminen Foundation.
New timetable and temporary port of destination for the Turku ship Baltic Princess
Tallink Grupp's Baltic Princess ship's timetable and port of destination will be temporarily changed from 13 September 2022 to 31 March 2023. From 13 September, the ship will operate between Kapellskär in Sweden and Sweden. Turku in Finland, departing from Kapellskär at 07:15. The cruise traffic from Stockholm to Tallinn and Helsinki will continue as usual, and the cruise traffic with Baltic Princess between Stockholm and Turku will resume during the summer season 2023.
Spooky news for Halloween at Kolmården
Between 8 October and 6 November, Kolmården is transformed into a spooky place with experiences for the whole family. This year the park is spookier than ever with lots of new features such as Treasure hunt, UV tunnels and Pumpania which will be even bigger, and Hospital and Ritualsfor the bravest of the brave. For five evenings after the park closes its regular Halloween celebrations, the gates reopen for a darker experience...Horror Nights - where the horror level is maximised in both horror houses and themed areas.
Cosy Halloween celebration at Furuvik
Furuvik is also focusing on Halloween. Between 15 October and 5 November, the park will be filled with witches, zombies and goblins. New this year is the Pelle Svanslös show. "Buuus or Candy" for the whole family. In addition, experiences such as The quirky toy maker, skeleton hunting with the werewolves, The orphanage and Zombie expresses. For four evenings after the park closes its regular Halloween celebrations, the gates will reopen and invite you to Horror Nights, which this year offers the novelty of Island.
Boating industry remains strong despite uncertainty in the world
Every year, Sweboat sends out a survey to its members, and now also to companies exhibiting at its fairs, to take the pulse of the boating industry. The last two years have been exceptional, with boats being sold like never before during the pandemic. This year, we can see a normalisation of these record levels, but most still report a strong market. Many also express relief that the supply of goods is back in balance, after a year of delivery delays.
