Croatia focuses on food festivals

Croatia is a hidden gem but is gaining ground as one of Europe's new culinary destinations. The Telegraph this year named Croatia as one of the world's top 15 destinations for gastronomic enthusiasts. The best time to enjoy delicacies is now in autumn - a time of harvest and festivals! Here are some of the autumn festivals for foodies in Croatia:

  • The Truffle Days in Livade, Istria, weekends 1/10-30/10
  • Marunada chestnut festival in Lovran, Kvarner, on 7/10-9/10
  • Taste the Mediterranean Festival in Split, Dalmatia, on 4-9/10
  • Good Food Festival in Dubrovnik, Dalmatia, 10-16/10

Children can meet Santa Claus, visit the trolls in Trollskogen and visit Bamse in his Christmas-decorated Småköping, where this year there is a brand new skating rink. For the first time, Sagojul is open throughout the Christmas holidays and runs until 8 January.

Winter Wonderland will be held at Gröna Lund between 2 December and 8 January and will offer a grand winter adventure filled with fairy tales, lighting, winter activities, food experiences and fast-paced attractions.
