Is there anything that gives more of a foreign feeling at home than a pool? We've (unfortunately) never had a pool of our own, but we love coming to a hotel or a friend's house that has an inviting pool. In today's article, we offer pool inspiration from seven countries.

Building a pool at home
Do you have a swimming pool at home, or have you thought about building one? Pool giants has over thirty years of combined experience in selling and building swimming pools. On their website you can read about Thermopoleswhich is the strongest and most durable pool construction on the market today.
In this case, we have more experience with swimming than building, so we're showing you a bunch of pools we've come across during our travels. If you were to build a pool, which of the following would you want to take the most inspiration from?
1. Croatia: Mediterranean feel
At Marina Camping in Labin, located on the Istrian peninsula in Croatia, we found an infinity pool with a fantastic view of the Adriatic Sea in the Mediterranean. There's just something special about infinity pools!
2. Morocco: Oriental mysticism
A restaurant we visited in Marrakech many years ago, Dar Moha, had a pool in the middle of the tables in the restaurant. Now it did not feel so convenient to swim in the middle of dinner directly, but the pool and the greenery contributed to the wonderful oriental mysticism.
3. Portugal: View of the plains
Many years ago we visited friends who were living in Portugal at the time. They had a private pool with a marvellous view of the Portuguese countryside. Sometimes it's not the pool that needs to be special, but the location.
4. Egypt: Five-star luxury
At the 5-star Hyatt Regency hotel, we experienced a really delicious pool area, filled with winding waterways, bridges and various smaller pools. Fanastically nice and luxurious!
5. Bulgaria: Lighting at night
The pool at the Lighthouse Golf & Spa Resort on the Black Sea was really nice. We liked the soft shapes and that there were little bridges over it. Plus, the lighting made it look extra cool in the evening.
6. Finland: Winter vibes
Do you like winter and snow? Then we have to show you a small outdoor pool, which we found outside a holiday home in Korpo, Finland. There might not be anything special about the pool, but there's definitely something special about swimming in a warm outdoor pool when there's snow and minus degrees.
7. Tunisia: A dreamy sense of paradise
On the Tunisian holiday island of Djerba, we stayed at the Palm Beach Palace hotel, which had a fantastic large and beautiful pool. The combination of the blue water and the green palm trees contributed to a wonderfully dreamy paradise feeling.

I have had a pool in some of my previous homes, but not now. I have close access to a wonderful and peaceful little lake instead, not a bad thing.
Enjoy the fair!
