Sales of motorhomes and caravans in line with expectations

New caravan and motorhome registrations in September are roughly in line with expectations. The industry has faced delivery delays throughout the year due to material shortages at subcontractors, an effect of the pandemic and the war in Ukraine. Nevertheless, the levels are roughly in line with sales in 2019 and 2020. In September 2022, 253 caravans and 257 motorhomes were registered.

New direct route from Landvetter to Rome

Wizz Air continues to expand in Sweden and is now launching an additional direct route from Göteborg Landvetter Airport in connection with the 2023 summer programme. From the end of spring, it will be possible to fly directly between western Sweden and Sweden. Rome. Starting on 30 April 2023, Wizz Air will fly twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays, all year round, with an Airbus 321 Neo.

Norwegian wins award for Best Airline in Europe at Danish Travel Awards

Norwegian has been voted Best Airline in Europe in the Danish Travel Awards, the most prestigious award for the travel industry in Denmark. Norwegian is among the best airlines in Europe when it comes to avoiding cancellations. In 2022 - which has also been a very challenging year for the airline industry - the company has operated almost 100 per cent of its scheduled flights.

Record summer for several Swedish destinations

Several Swedish destinations are reporting a record summer. Here are some examples from this week's press releases:

• High Coast increased, in the first eight months of the year, by 12 per cent compared to the previous year.
• Göta Canal cruises with Stromma showed a strong increase compared to before the pandemic, and the summer was the company's best ever.
• Jönköping County broke a record in the number of guest nights during the summer. 888 000 guest nights represent an increase of 18 per cent compared to 2021.
• Kolmården had 615,333 guests during the summer, an increase of 28 per cent compared to last summer.
• Linköping had 210,227 guest nights during the summer, representing a growth of 9 per cent compared to last summer.
• Trelleborg calls 2022 a record year. The number of guest nights after the first eight months of the year is 3.1 per cent more than the whole of 2021 combined. 

Sweden's best car park named

Readers have voted for the best site of the year in a competition organised by Husbil & Husvagn magazine. Vindhaga caravan park in Blekinge county wins the award for Caravan Park of the Year 2022. The winner offers large pitches, good communication - and it is also wonderfully clean. This year's top 5:

1. Vindhaga car park, Blekinge County
2. Bauergården, Jönköping County
3. Fotö car park, Västra Götaland county
4. Stocka car park, Gävleborg County
5. Sagaliden, Gävleborg County

Excited to see the winning sites! We agree that Bauergården and the site on Fotö are nice and pleasant. The others we have yet to visit.
