Siggesta Farm in Värmdö outside Stockholm is a rural hotel with conference facilities, outdoor activities, animals, activities for children and a restaurant with locally produced ingredients. Now the farm is also opening up parking spaces - and welcomes motorhomes.
Table of contents
Siggesta Farm
Siggesta Gård offers nature experiences and a lovely rural atmosphere, which is appreciated by everyone from families with children to conference organisers.
People can come to the farm for daytime activities or dining experiences. You can also stay overnight in a "boutique hotel with soul", as the farm itself calls it, or perhaps in a glamping tent at the edge of the forest. Or, from late autumn 2022, you can come in your own motorhome.
Siggesta Gård is located in Värmdö, in the Stockholm archipelago.
Siggesta Gård - now with pitches for motorhomes
Siggesta Gård has been thinking about welcoming motorhomes for a long time, and now they have finally done it. In co-operation with Acampwhich collects pitches on local farms and other cosy places, is now opening up to motorhome guests.
We were not the very first campervan guests, but almost. This is because super news. Siggesta Gård has selected three areas on the farm where motorhomes can be parked and around 10 pitches can now be booked via the Acamp website or app.
This is not a "classic" site with straight rows, but rather Siggesta Gård wants to offer a rural experience close to nature. At the site we chose, we were nicely surrounded by nature and deer that constantly skipped past within sight. Next to us there was also a popular dog park.
The motorhomes do not currently have access to any services, except for a toilet when the restaurant is open. Robban from Siggesta Farm, who received us and showed us around, told us that they are planning some development. Among other things, signs for the pitches will come up, which was missing now.
Outdoor activities at Siggesta Gård
One of the reasons to visit Siggesta Gård is the wide range of outdoor activities. The activities attract both holidaymakers and conference participants.
Adventure golf "Värmdö runt"
In the area there is a large course for adventure golf, with the theme "Värmdö runt". The courses are really creative, and even though we didn't play, we thought it was fun to walk around and look at the different "Värmdö sculptures". For example, how about playing the golf ball into a rune stone, a coffee cup or a cowbell?
There's even a "church" on the adventure golf course, and if you enter it, you'll find even more courses ...
Sports and challenges
There are also countless other sports activities where you can challenge yourself or others. For example, you can try padel, football golf or disc golf.
A slightly different thing to try is the 'Forest Obstacle Course'. The course can be used by everyone from 5-year-olds to adults and therefore contains courses of varying degrees of difficulty. Some are fairly easy while others are quite challenging ...
Hiking trails and mountain bike tracks
Siggesta Gård is surrounded by beautiful nature, and it is excellent for discovering nature on foot or by mountain bike. There are two hiking trails (3.5 and 8 kilometres) and two mountain bike trails.
In one place we discovered a really cool hut. Robban from Siggesta Gård, who was with us on this occasion, told us that it was built by children in connection with a TV production.
Swimming and activities on the water
If you want, you can walk down to the so-called "natural beach". Here you have a view of the archipelago, including Grinda and other islands. In the summer you can swim here, and you can also rent a SUP (Stand Up Paddle Board) or a canoe.
Activities for children
Siggesta Gård also has a strong focus on children. Among other things, you can discover the charming little Trollstigen, where you follow painted fly agarics in the ground and along the way discover both trolls and various charming animals, which you can learn more about via informative signs.
On the way, we also passed a "korkek" .
Another thing that both adults and children can appreciate is the farm's animals. There are horses, goats, alpacas and chickens. Sometimes it is possible to book alpaca feeding or pony rides.
Restaurant and dining experiences
Siggesta Gård focuses not only on activities, but also on food, especially locally produced food.
Kitchen garden
The farm has a kitchen garden where they grow things like radishes, carrots, artichokes and various herbs and spices. The vegetables and spices are then used in the dishes served in the restaurant.
Lounge, orangery and deli
There are several places at Siggesta Gård that focus on food. The Orangery, which serves lunch and coffee, was only open on weekends during the late autumn. The lounge, which serves breakfast on weekends, was also closed at the time.
However, we were able to peek into the deli, where you can buy locally produced products such as spices, jams, musts, oils and sweets. You can even find delicacies for your four-legged friends!
Dinner at Restaurant Ladugården
For our part, it was dinner at the relatively large, and incredibly cosy, Restaurant Ladugården. We took the opportunity to take a photo of the table setting. before the large conference party filled the room ...
We chose a cosy spot by the fire and ordered the same menu as the conference guests. This time of year, the conference menu is served on weekdays, and another menu on weekends. We also got to try local beer, in the form of a very good "Värmdö IPA".
The menu started with a spaghetti toast on sourdough bread. Then we had flank steak with primers from the farm, and the vegetables were fantastic. The dinner was then rounded off with a smooth and tasty chocolate mousse. Very good from start to finish!

Isn't it a cosy place? 🙂

Totte says:
I agree that Siggesta is a rather cosy place. But, the pitches do not seem ready. Came here tonight and we couldn't find a pitch. Asked in the restaurant and in one of the villas. In addition, they called from the restaurant. Electricity connections were not ready and when it comes to toilets we are referred to the restaurant.
So yes, it will be good but it's not ready yet.
We are now standing in the car park, but that works too.
There is electricity in the battery and a toilet in the car.

Helena says:
Thank you for writing! The pitches are quite simple and, just as you say, they plan to develop them over time, including signs and more organised electrical connections. But, according to the information we received, there should be electricity for all motorhomes already now. (Ready-made electrical connections on some of the sites, and on some of the sites the staff has to pull out a cable.) There is also a toilet that you can access from outside (without going into the restaurant). Perhaps not all the staff know what to do yet, as it's so new? Great that you write! I know they want feedback to improve and I am happy to give them feedback,
