Svenska Smålandsvägen is a FREEDOMtravel themed road that runs from IKEA Museum to High Chaparral. You can drive it from any direction or take parts of it that seem interesting. Happy travelling!

1. IKEA Museum on Svenska Smålandsvägen
The IKEA Museum tells the story of the huge furniture store founded in 1943 as a mail order company by Ingvar Kamprad, then only 17 years old, in Småland. The museum is located next to the first store in Älmhult and is interesting to visit.
2. Kyrkö mosse car cemetery
The car cemetery Kyrkö mosse is located outside Ryd in Tingsryd municipality and is an unusual attraction, to say the least. Here lie some 150 scrap cars from the mid-20th century, which are gradually being taken over by nature. The site has become a popular attraction, not least for taking photos.
3. Donkey National Park
Åsnens National Park is a natural area that includes lakes, islands, forests and wetlands. At both entrances, Trollberget and Sunnabron, there are toilets and rest areas.
4. Huseby mill
Huseby Bruk is a fine destination in Småland with old mill environments, castle, park, restaurant, shops and exhibitions. The mill is like a time bubble that shows what it looked like here when the last owner, Miss Florence Stephens, lived here.
5. Teleborg Castle
Located just outside the centre of Växjö, Teleborg Castle looks like something out of a fairy tale. Count Fredrik Bonde af Björnö built the castle in the late 19th century, and the impressive building was completed in 1900. Today it houses a hotel, a restaurant and a lovely park to stroll through.
6. Växjö
Växjö is a pleasant city that offers many exciting historical sites as well as glass art and beautiful nature. For example, you can visit Växjö Cathedral, the Emigrants' House and the Småland Museum.
7. Kronoberg Castle ruins
Kronoberg Castle Ruin is a well-preserved historical ruin beautifully situated on an islet in Helgasön, outside Växjö. The ruin is interesting to visit and signs tell the story, which includes Gustav Vasa and the Dacke feud.
8. Sweden Zipline
At Sweden Zipline, Little Rock Lake, you will find Europe's longest zipline course. The course is a total of 4.6 kilometres long and consists of four different courses. Here you can experience a real adventure along the Swedish Småland Road!
TIPS: Vidinge farm in Älghult
Vidinge Farm has rooms, food, parking, bicycles, packraft, fishing, homely surroundings and an English pub. Stay for the night but be prepared to stay longer because it's cosy here.
9. Granhult church
Granhult Church is Sweden's oldest wooden church. The church dates back to the 1220s, survived against all odds and is today a fascinating attraction. Not least, it is fantastic to see all the old paintings and decorations in wood.

Kosta is a cosy and exciting place in the heart of Småland. Kingdom of glass. Here you can experience glass in lots of different exciting ways. You can admire glass art at Kosta Art GalleryHave a drink at the Glass Bar at Kosta Boda Art Hotel, shop at Kosta Outlet or maybe try your hand at blowing glass at the Kosta Glass Centre. If you're here before Christmas, you shouldn't miss the Kosta Christmas market.
11th Kosta Safari Park
If you want to see moose and other animals, there are several safari parks in Småland. For example, you can visit Kosta Safaripark. Here you can drive at a maximum of 10 km/h while looking for animals such as bison, wild boar, mouflon sheep, fallow deer, red deer and elk.
12. lessebo hand paper mill
Lessebo Handpappersbruk is a mill where paper is still made in the traditional way with Dutchmen, kyp and forming frames. Today you are welcome as a tourist for guided tours, or perhaps to try making paper yourself during a workshop.
13. The Glass Factory and Hönsalottas Luffarmuseum.
The Glass Factory is Sweden's only dedicated glass museum. Here you can learn about the development of the craft, see glass blowing and take part in various exhibitions and events. Right next door is Hönsalotta's Tramp Museum, which tells the story of tramps such as Hönsalotta, Smålands-Pelle and Stolla-Hedda.
14. Mickejohan's art glass
Mickejohans konstglas is one of the many exciting small glassworks in Glasriket. Micke Johansson became a master at the age of 24 and today has developed techniques that no one else in the world has mastered. You are welcome to take a look in the hut and the shop, and sometimes special shows are organised, which are usually very popular and well attended.
15. James Bond 007 Museum
The James Bond Museum is a great place for anyone who loves the James Bond films, and perhaps for everyone else as well. The collection is hugely impressive and the museum is so large that visitors are provided with a map of the many rooms.
16. Kalmar on the Swedish Smålandsvägen
Kalmar is both a cosy and historically interesting city. The most important attraction, which you don't want to miss, is... Kalmar Castle. It is also nice to stroll on Kvarnholmen, see the city gates and have a coffee at Krusenstiernska gården. If you like museums, you can visit both Kalmar County Museum and the Maritime Museum.
17th Blue Maiden National Park
Blå Jungfrun is a mythical and special island in Kalmarsund, which gave rise to the folklore of Blåkulla. The island is also a national park, and you can get here by boat from Oskarshamn.
18. Gamleby Trollskogen
Trollskogen in Gamleby is a sculpture park with sculptures created by artist Jerzy Przbyl alias Jon Pol. Here you will meet imaginative figures such as trolls, goblins, gnomes and other magical creatures from the world of fairy tales and myths.
19. Astrid Lindgren's World in Vimmerby, Sweden
Astrid Lindgren's World is a theme park where you can meet famous places like Katthult and Nils Karlsson-Pyssling's house. You will also find playgrounds, theatre performances, restaurants and cafés. A perfect stop for families with children along Svenska Smålandsvägen!
20. North Kvill National Park
Norra Kvill National Park is a fabulous and slightly magical forest filled with fallen trunks, large boulders and sturdy trees. Here you can hike in an exciting environment, among moss-covered rocks.
21. Eksjö on the Swedish Smålandsvägen
Eksjö is a charming wooden town, filled with beautiful and colourful small wooden houses. Here you can, for example, check out the Aschanska farm or experience a cosy Christmas market. In the surroundings there are also nice nature areas such as Skurugata and Skuruhatt.
22. Visingsö
The charming island of Visingsö is located in Lake Vättern, and you can get here by boat from Gränna. Cycling around the island is nice. Interesting stops can include Visingsborg Castle Ruin, Brahe Church, Nostalgia Museum, Tempelgården, Visingsö Alpaca and Näs Castle Ruin.
23. Gränna
Gränna is a wonderfully charming little town, founded by Per Brahe almost 400 years ago. Today, the town is perhaps best known for its candy canes, and if you want, you can see candy cane production. It is also very interesting to visit the Grenna Museum, which has an exciting exhibition on the Andrée expedition.
24. Bauergården and "Troll boat trips"
"Troll Boat Tours" takes tourists on the canal between lakes Bunn and Ören. Here you can experience the magical environments where the artist John Bauer, who was born in Jönköping, found inspiration for works such as "Among gnomes and trolls". The boat tours are organised in the summer and take about two hours and 45 minutes. The tour departs and arrives from Bauergården's jetty at the southern end of Lake Bunn.
25. Husqvarna museum
The Husqvarna museum in Huskvarna tells the story of a company that started making rifles in the 17th century and is now a world leader in forestry and gardening products. Nearby, you can visit the charming Smedbyn village or see the view from Huskvarna mountain.
26. Jönköping on the Swedish Smålandsvägen
Jönköping is known for its matchstick history and one of the most interesting things to do in the city is to visit The Match Museum. The city park is also worth a visit, where you will find an open-air museum, a playground, animals, a café and a mini-golf course.
27. Bottnaryd church
Bottnaryd Church is a beautiful wooden church dating back to 1667. Inside, the church is beautifully decorated with stunning paintings, and there are also artefacts dating back to the 13th century. Don't miss the baptismal font, altarpiece and organ.
28th Isaberg Mountain Resort
Isaberg Mountain Resort is southern Sweden's largest ski resort and MTB centre. In addition to skiing and mountain biking, there is also a toboggan run, high-altitude course, adventure golf and various lake activities such as canoeing, sauna rafting and fishing.
29th Store Mosse National Park
Store Mosse is the largest bog area in southern Sweden. Here you can hike in open spaces that resemble the mountains.
30. High Chaparral on Svenska Smålandsvägen
High Chaparral is a theme park that takes you to the Wild West. Here you can experience shows and different adventures, and there are also several restaurants. A perfect stop for families with children along the Swedish Småland Road.
