Stationen Ystad is a really cosy Bed & Breakfast in Skåne. Peter and his brother Micke stayed here for one night during last week's business road trip. You can read more about their stay (and their trip) here.

Ystad station
Stationen Ystad is a bed & breakfast (with a hotel feel!) located in the city's old railway station from 1865. Here you will find really cosy rooms, with a great location for visiting the city.
Ystad Station is located in the old station building in Ystad, close to the water but also close to the city centre.
An intense road trip through southern Sweden
It was last week that Peter and his brother Micke made a business road trip through southern Sweden. They had no less than nine meetings (!) in four days, with a number of companies that we either already work with, or hope to work with in 2023.
The trip started with a rental car in Stockholm and then went to Kristinehamn, Jönköping, Gothenburg, Malmö, Ystad, Kosta and Tenhult. A total of 176 kilometres!
I (Helena) asked if they perhaps could manage to take a photo of one of their properties (although I knew it would be hectic!) and I got some photos of the property at Ystad Station.
Before they came to Ystad, they stayed at the delicious... Gothia Towers in Gothenburg and after Ystad they stayed in a cosy cottage in Kosta Lodge.
Arriving at Ystad station
According to the description, Stationen Ystad is a "bed & breakfast with a hotel feel" and it suited Peter and Micke perfectly. Cosy interior, reasonable price and close to the city. What more can you ask for?
When Peter and Micke arrived, there was no staff in place, but when booking, they had received a code, so they could come in and get the key to the room. It worked fine!
The setting is really cosy, and if you're a fan of the Wallander films, you have another reason to come here. The station house has served as a police station in the films.
Breakfast at Ystad Station
Ystad Station serves breakfast, and both Peter and Micke were very satisfied. It is a fairly large buffet that is served, with good quality. Peter especially thought the bread was really good!
Peter is also fond of eggs and croissants so when these things are available, and of good quality, he is happy.
More to see and do in the neighbourhood
If you stay one night at Ystad Station, you will want to experience the city of Ystad, with half-timbered houses and Wallander sites as well as nice cafes and beaches. We also recommend a visit to the ancient mystery centre Ales stones and Sweden's southernmost cape Smygehuk.

What a great place! So fun that they did not level the station with the ground as they did here with Norra Station but made a B&B place with a luxury feel instead. In addition, a small culture clash with Gothia Towers. Guess that report is coming! There, Peter and Micke will hopefully test the world-famous shrimp sandwich;-)

Really, a nice and affordable place! Gothia Towers is a bit different, for sure. There will be no more reports from this trip though. Peter and Micke took quite a few photos during the trip (they had so many other things to think about ;)). But we have been to Gothia Towers before together as well, and then we wrote about it: https://www.freedomtravel.se/2018/10/en-hotellnatt-pa-gothia-towers-i-goteborg/

Can only agree that Stationen is a really lovely place! Stayed here when we cycled the Sydostleden a couple of years ago. Managed to get a room at the top with a sloping roof and everything. Very nice!
