Travel News Market 2022 - the travel industry's big event

Last Thursday it was time for the Travel News Market 2022 - the travel industry's big happening. We were there to discuss collaborations with destinations and travel companies, but also to mingle and meet friends.

A travel event for professionals

Travel News Market is an annual B2B (business to business) trade fair for the travel industry. This is usually a well-attended event where destinations, travel agencies, airlines, travel journalists, travel bloggers and others have the opportunity to meet.

You can already book 15-minute meetings with exhibitors in advance. We had each booked a long list. Peter and his brother Micke, who works with us as a media salesman, went together and had 17 meetings booked. I (Helena) went alone and had 15 meetings booked. An intense day in other words ...!

We met both destinations and companies that we already cooperate with, and those that we are curious about. Above all, we met with destinations in Europe, but we also met with some more exotic places and some shipping companies and airlines. Interesting and inspiring!

Bourbon tasting

At the fair, a bourbon tasting was also organised, along with a presentation, via Travel South USA. Peter and Micke had happened to book meetings at the same time, so it was only me (Helena) who could go to the tasting. And who was little jealousy ...?

What did I think? Well, I don't know if bourbon will be my favourite drink, but it was very interesting both to try and to learn a bit more. We tried Bulleit Bourbon, Buffalo Trace and Bulleit Rye, which all had different flavours. Have you ever had bourbon? What do you think?

Meetings with travel writers

In addition to all the meetings, it is incredibly fun to meet all the other travel writers, journalists, bloggers, instagrammers and youtubers. Unlike last year (because we thought it was a bit sparse on the blog front.), there were now many writers on site. I didn't get a picture of all of them, but some were caught on the lens ...

Party in the evening

In keeping with tradition, there was a party in the evening. This time the party was organised at Operaterrassen. Here there were some drinks, food and mingle. Then our small group continued on to a hotel bar, to be able to talk more in peace and quiet, the rest of the evening.
