The Radisson Blu Resort & Spa in Split is located by the sea in Split and is perfect for a spa weekend in Croatia. We spent a few days here over Christmas, and it was great to experience Croatia in winter. Especially when we could enjoy spa baths, treatments and walks along the sea.

Radisson Blu Resort & Spa in Split
Radisson Blu Resort & Spa in Split is a hotel that during the summer months is perfect for those who want to enjoy the sun and swimming. Just outside the hotel you will find the Adriatic Sea, as well as several nice beaches and cosy beach bars. But it is not wrong to visit the hotel in winter either. Then you can combine a relaxing spa with a visit to the lovely city of Split.
Radisson Blu Resort & Spa in Split is located about 3 kilometres east of Diocletian's Palace, the most central part of Split.
A room with a lovely view of the sea
We stayed in a room with a fantastic view of the sea. Now during winter it's not exactly bathing weather (unless you're a cold swimmer) but the water is as blue and beautiful as in summer. We enjoyed 15 degrees and sunshine, and loved the view from our large balcony.
Below are the beaches, which are of course very popular in the summer. In winter, you'll see people walking their dogs, or perhaps sitting in a café.
Otherwise, we had a large and nice room that we were very happy with. We particularly liked the design of the bathroom. It was more or less open to the shower - with a semi-transparent wall into the room - while the toilet was behind a lockable door.
Really good breakfast
I don't know about you, but we (especially Helena!) appreciate a good breakfast, and the breakfast at the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa in Split did not disappoint. Here we were greeted by a large buffet with really fresh ingredients. We appreciated, among other things, the fresh juice, the omelettes made to order and the warm croissants.
There was also a large table with cakes, for those who like sweets, and a table with gluten-free products. Moreover, the service was fast and smooth. Every morning here felt like a luxurious start to the day!
Nice restaurants/bars in the hotel
The Fig Leeve buffet restaurant, where breakfast is served, offers a buffet dinner during the summer months. Now in winter, the only choices were the a la carte restaurant The Caper Grill and the Door Bar.
We chose one evening to have dinner at The Caper Grill. We were only moderately hungry and therefore chose to share two starters, which turned out to be absolutely perfect. Not least because we were also served plenty of bread and an extra small "amuse-bouche".
We opted for a melon salad with some kind of white cheese and a plate of Croatian delicacies, such as air-dried ham and cheese from the Croatian cheese factory. Island of Pag. Fantastic with a Croatian white wine!
On another evening we had a more simple meal of hamburgers and a beer each in the bar.
In the same place, one evening we had an Irish Coffee, which we think is the perfect dessert - coffee, whisky and sweet in one glass.
Spa weekend in Croatia - at the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa in Split
One of the reasons for visiting the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa was to experience a spa weekend in Croatia. And so it was! The hotel has a fresh spa - SPALATO - with a large wellness area. Here you will find a swimming pool, two whirlpools, several saunas, small hot and cold pools as well as a relaxation area, private spa and gym.
One day we also tried a treatment each. You can choose anything from signature treatments (including precious stones) to Asian treatments, classic massage, facials, manicures and pedicures.
Peter has had some problems with his back, and when we told him, the staff recommended an Asian massage. This was a brand new experience for Peter and he was very pleased. He said that no-one had ever done "such a hard job" on his neck before, but it left him feeling very soft and mobile afterwards. Fantastically good!
I (Helena) chose a more classic full body massage, called Stress Away Massage. This was also very good, and helped me to relax my neck, back and other muscles. This was the icing on the cake during our spa weekend in Croatia.
Nice beach outside the hotel
Throughout the summer months, of course, you can combine hanging out at the hotel with sun and swimming. Just outside is the fine beach Plato Znjan, along with a long line of beach bars. Several of the beach bars were closed now, but at least one was open for beach goers who wanted to have a coffee. Very nice to walk here, even during low season, we thought.
Seafront walk to Split
If you want to take the opportunity to see the city of Split - and of course you do! - there are many ways to get from the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa in Split to the city centre. The walk takes around 35 minutes, but if you have time and the weather is nice, it's highly recommended.
You can follow the promenade all the way in, which is an incredibly nice walk. Along the way, you'll pass beautiful beaches and nice beach bars (many of which were open even in the winter), and there's a chance to see some fantastic sunsets.
For those who don't want to walk, there are a number of other options. A shuttle bus runs in summer, but not now in winter. However, you can rent a bike or take a taxi. If you want a good price, you can book through the Bolt or Uber apps instead of taking a classic taxi. We travelled with Bolt, which was incredibly fast and smooth. The price - about 50 SEK one way - was also affordable.

If you are at a Resort & Spa Hotel, you just have to use all the facilities. And of course you did. The massage sounds great and the spa area was really delicious. Do not know what it is with hotel breakfasts, but they taste extra good. Probably because you do not have to cook them yourself;-)

Sounds like a nice weekend but right now we want warmer around us. But in the spring, a trip here is more appealing to us.
What a great weekend you had.
