Today we can show a film from the Philippines. Peter has edited a film for After Work TV, with whom we collaborate, and we also show the film here. In addition, we offer some photos from our "everyday life" here in Malapascua.

Film from the Philippines

So, Peter has put together a film about our trip to the Philippines, and about the first time in the Cebu City and on the island Malapascua. You can watch the film (13 minutes long) below. Don't forget to switch on the sound on your computer!

The film is also shown on After Work TVwhich is a new play channel for all senior citizens in Sweden. "After Work" refers to the time after retirement, i.e. "after work". Pretty clever, isn't it?

In any case, this collaboration is a lot of fun, and it's great that our films are also shown there. This was episode 1, and more films will come in time.

Our everyday life in Malapascua, Philippines

We are hanging out on the island of Malapascua and while we are preparing for a boat trip in the Philippines it has become a bit of a daily routine here. We hang out quite a lot outside our accommodation at Hiltey's Hide Out, where we sit and work on the computers.

It's not just FREEDOMtravel that needs updating. We have several writing projects going on, plus I (Helena) am writing articles on behalf of a company in the motorhome industry.

We also move around a lot in the small alleys of Malapascua. There are no cars here, so it's a walk or a moped.

Sometimes we've gone down to the boat Dotche, which we're going boating with, and then there's also a walk through dense green terrain.

You should eat, otherwise you will die. We have eaten down by the beach a few times, including good pizza for around 90 SEK/person, but it gets expensive to eat there in the long run. If you go just a short distance from the beach, the prices are better, and you can have a good dinner for 40-50 SEK per person.

A beer then costs around SEK 15. The picture shows us at one of our favourite places, where we enjoyed good food such as adobo (Filipino stew), chicken in sweet and sour sauce, spring rolls and Chicken Cordon Bleu.

It's also common to point to the ingredient you want (for example, chicken, pork, fish, shrimp, mussels, corn on the cob or vegetable skewers) and have it grilled, along with rice and perhaps some soy and chilli.

If you want to eat yet you can do what we sometimes do for lunch. Then we buy a cup of noodles and pour boiling water from the kettle we have at the hotel. Then the lunch does not cost many kronor!

Continued cooperation with Alltomhusbilen.se

As I said, we work when we are here, and one thing we have done is to develop our co-operation with the online magazine. Alltomhusbilen.se. Now not only our Swedish articles on motorhome destinations are there, but also our German ones, in their menu under "Destinations", with the headings "Swedish Pearls" and "German Pearls". Even more countries are coming soon!

The aim is to enable the readers of Alltomhusbilen to find articles about travel destinations. If you have already found our site, you will of course find the articles directly here, under the headings "Sweden", "Europe" and "World" in the menu at the top of the page.

Best this week

The best part of this week is that we get to have our office in this amazing setting in Malapascua, Philippines. It feels really luxurious to be able to work like that! In addition, it feels positive and fun that the boat trip is approaching.

Your turn... What can you highlight as positive from the week?

The week ahead

During the coming week we will continue to hang out on Malapascua. We will, if everything goes as planned, both go over to the larger island of Cebu to shop and go on a fishing trip. Meanwhile, the boat trip is slowly but surely approaching!

Here at freedomtravel.se we alternate the reports from the Philippines with a few other things. Among other things, you can expect a guest article with inspiration from Italy.
