Polish beautiful coastal road
The Polish Beautiful Coastal Road is a FREEDOMtravel Themed Road that runs from Swinoujscie on the border with Germany, past several beautiful resorts such as Gdynia, Sopot and Gdansk to Krynika Morska. You can follow it from any direction, or pick your favourite part (your favourite spots) in the middle. This is an idea to make it easier for you to go on a little adventure. Happy travelling!
Brief facts about Poland's beautiful coastal road
- Length: 680 km
- Start: Swinoujscie
- Stop: Krynika Morska
1. Świnoujścompany
Holidays in Swinoujscie in Poland! Swinoujscie is located on the Baltic Sea coast, close to the border with Germany. Boat traffic to the harbour town is lively and the long sandy beaches of this Polish spa town are extensive. The second time we came here, we decided to see what else there is to do in the town itself.
2. Dziwnów on Poland's beautiful coastal road
Poland's beach in Dziwnow! Here are some pictures from the beach, which almost feels exotic with all the palm trees. If you are wondering where we are, the resort is called Dziwnow. It is located in the north-eastern part near Swinoujscie and we call it Poland's beach.
Tips: Campsites and cottages
Between Dziwnow and Łeba there are about 75 campsites, most of them with sandy beaches and cottages.
TIPS: Słowiński National Park
Welcome to the Polish Sahara Słowiński national park! This is now a national park 10 minutes from Leba (Uttalas Weba) in northern Poland and there is even more sand here. Take a trip to the sand paradise consisting of a huge sand dune and just have fun maybe with a tailgate in the summer and go downhill.
3. Łeba (Weba)
Poles love Łeba (pronounced Weba), and no wonder. There are long white sandy beaches, lots of restaurants serving fresh fish and a national park right next door. We stayed two nights and had a really nice day on the beach. We also had time to try Polish fast food and to check out how the Poles "build themselves behind fences" on the beaches.
4. The entire peninsula (6 miles of sandy beach)
The Hel Peninsula in Poland, a 35-kilometre-long tongue of land that extends into the Baltic Sea. In most places, the tongue is so narrow that you can walk across it in five minutes. There's something Asian about these white-sand beaches. Come to the Hel Peninsula in Poland - long white paradise beaches.
5. REWA on the Polish beautiful coastal road
Rewa is located on the Polish coast, within walking distance of Mechelinki and opposite the Hel headland. This is a real swimming and surfing paradise with a long narrow strip of sand stretching out into the sea and a great holiday atmosphere.
6th Mechelinki
Mechelinki used to be a sleepy little fishing village on the Polish Baltic coast. With holiday resorts like Rewa, Hel and Sopot not far away, not everyone has found their way to Mechelinki yet, but more people are discovering this little gem in northern Poland.
7th Gdynia
Gdynia in Poland offers lovely sandy beaches, nice restaurants and the largest shopping centre in northern Poland. Along with Gdansk and Sopot, Gdynia is part of the so-called tri-city and is a perfect starting point for lovely days along the Polish Riviera.
8. Sopot
Sopot in Poland belongs, along with Gdansk and Gdynia, to the so-called tri-city on the Polish Riviera. This exclusive holiday resort is known as a bathing and health resort and for its long, fine sandy beaches. Here you will find Europe's longest wooden pier and lots of nice restaurants. Perhaps Sopot in Poland is the perfect holiday destination when you want a bit of luxury and glamour on your holiday, without having to break the bank.
9. Gdańsk
Gdansk in Poland is, in our opinion, one of the country's finest cities. The Hanseatic city of Gdansk lies on the Baltic Sea, surrounded by long, beautiful sandy beaches. Gdansk offers everything from historic buildings to cosy restaurants and lovely beaches in the summer. Here are some tips and things to do in Gdansk!
10. Malbork on the Polish beautiful coastal road
Malbork Castle in Poland is located in the Polish city of the same name. The castle was built by the Teutonic Order in the 14th century and is the largest brick building in Europe. It is a really powerful castle, which you won't want to miss during your visit to Poland.
11. Krynica Morska
Krynika Morska is located in north-eastern Poland, on the Vistula Island near the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad. We have looked at this headland on the map before and were a bit curious. What could you possibly find here ...?
