Now we are back in Stockholm - after three whole months in the Philippines. What a journey this has been! We have really gained a lot of experiences and insights. At the same time, it is a bit nice to be home in Sweden again. Happy Friday!

Long journey home with three flights

Our last destination in the Philippines was the beautiful (and very touristy) island of St. Kitts. Boracay. From here we started our journey home. In the morning there was a short boat trip from Boracay to Caticlan and from there it was a flight to Cebu.

Air Asia flew us from Caticlan to Cebu.

This first flight took off ahead of schedule and barely got off the ground before it was time to go down again.

Then there was a long wait at the airport in Cebubefore our flight left at 18:00. The flight Cebu - Qatar, with Qatar Airlines, took 10 hours. Good service and good food on board, but a long journey.

Cebu Airport

So nice to finally stretch my legs at the airport in Doha! This time we ended up in an incredibly green and beautiful part of the airport.

Then it was time for the final leg. Doha - Stockholm took 6 hours. We landed in Stockholm around 7am. It was good to be there, albeit tired after many hours on aeroplanes and in airports...

At home in Sweden

Sweden greeted us with sunshine and fresh spring air. Really lovely and refreshing, even if Peter's flip-flops were perhaps a slightly odd choice of clothing for the time of year, haha... And... the houseboat? Yes, it was fine!

Finally back at the houseboat

Of course, the fridge and freezer were empty, so we immediately got out our e-bikes and backpacks to go food shopping ...

What happened? Bread among other things (which we had been longing for) and lots of vegetables. In fact, there are very small quantities of vegetables in traditional Filipino food (and the international dishes are often mostly "ornamental vegetables"), so vegetables are something we've been craving too!

Let's feast on vegetables

Best this week

Best part of this week? That we could come back to beautiful Boracay (which we visited in 2014) once again, but also to be back in Sweden. After a long period of Asian heat, it is really nice with fresh Swedish spring air!

Your turn... What has been the best part of your week? Some springtime excursions perhaps?

The week ahead

During the coming week we will be at home in Stockholm. We will organise a lot of practical things, including picking up the camper van. We also have some events and meetings coming up.

We will publish a few more reports from the end of our trip in the Philippines. There will also be guest reports and probably an update on the motorhome.

We wish all readers a Happy Friday!
