Sikatuna's Mirror of the World and Botanical Garden is a theme park located on the island of Bohol in the Philippines. Here you can see famous buildings from around the world and stroll among plants, flowers and Japanese fish. We made a stop during a carpet tour to check it out.

Sikatuna's Mirror of the World
Sikatuna's Mirror of the World had a soft opening in 2018, and has since continued to expand and develop. The park was created by a Norwegian couple, with the aim of showing the world to Filipinos and creating a new destination on the island of Bohol.
The park is located on the southwestern part of the island of Bohol, about 15 kilometres east of Tagbilaran City.
Visiting Sikatuna's Mirror of the World
During the days we stayed in hotels in Tubigon, on the west coast of Bohol, we rented mopeds for several days in a row to explore the island. On one of these days we made a stop at Sikatuna's Mirror of the World and Botanical Garden.
Driving around on a moped in the Philippine countryside, filled with dogs, goats and small local sari sari (neighbourhood) shops, it's hard to believe that a theme park is about to appear. But that's exactly what's happening! Whether you like famous buildings or not, we found the park to be a pretty nice stop on an otherwise long carpet ride.
As well as showcasing famous buildings, you can enjoy beautiful flower beds, rippling water, the Japanese fish koi and all kinds of sculptures of various sizes.
Buildings of Sikatuna's Mirror of the World
Sikatuna's Mirror of the World features a number of famous buildings, including the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Statue of Liberty in New York, Big Ben in London, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and the Statue of Christ in Rio de Janeiro.
There is still construction going on in the park and it looked like Colosseum was underway. From Asia there were far fewer buildings, but we saw the Handara Gate from Bali and some Chinese arches.
How was the Nordic region represented then? Well, it was via a Viking ship back then ... We asked our followers on Instagram which building from Sweden they would like to see, and we received the following answers:
- Stockholm City Hall
- Globes
- Feskekörka in Gothenburg
- Smögen bridge
- Midsummer pole
Lunch at Café Acropolis
We were hungry during our visit, so it was lunch at Café Acropolis. Here we ordered pineapple chicken, which tasted quite ok, but not much more than that. But good with new energy for further moping!
More to see and do in the neighbourhood
In the neighbourhood of Sikatuna's Mirror of the World, we can recommend visits to the famous The chocolate hills, at the visitor centres to see Philippine ghost animals and at River Loboc, where you can embark on lunchtime cruises. If you want to sunbathe and swim, you can go to Panglao Island, where you will find beautiful beaches and many resorts. Find all our tips for Bohol here. Lena in Wales and a bit everywhere says:
Yes, it's hard to decide what I really think. Bizarre or funny?!
I have some difficulty with these types of theme parks, a bit too artificial for me, but many people find it fun. However, the botanical garden attracts me.
Regardless of what I think, it was great to get there through you.
Take care!

Helena says:
I understand what you mean! Of course it is artificial and we can also feel a bit ambivalent. But maybe different for those who don't have the opportunity to travel and see these places for real? Anyway, for us it was a nice stop during a moppet tour, but it was not the only (or main) visit that day 😉.

There is so much to see and so much going on in the islands. Is certainly good for the country's economy. I think the Viking ship suits us as an image of Swedes😀.
Have a nice trip, there will be a lot of material for boken☺️

BP says:
I agree with Lena and can also note that it is NOT Las Vegas and not Epcot Centre either. So well, a little out of place I think.
Like your lunch, the Viking ship is okay, but no more...
