More people are booking holidays for summer 2023
Bookings of summer trips have increased by as much as 25 per cent compared to the summer of 2019. This is according to the latest figures from Ticket. After three tough years for the travel industry due to the pandemic, closed borders and airport chaos, it now looks like the industry has a tailwind again and that the Swedes' desire to travel is back in full force. In Ticket's latest Sifo survey, as many as 43 per cent say they are planning a holiday abroad this summer. The most sought-after summer destinations:
New street food themed buffet menu on Tallink Silja
For the spring and summer season, Tallink Silja is now launching a new buffet menu on board all ships. The theme table is Street food with Asian and South American favourites such as sushi, tacos, paella and baos. Inspiration comes from cuisines around the world. This year, more focus has been placed on vegetables and vegan dishes, and locally produced ingredients play a central role. In addition to the theme table, the buffet includes a wide range of seafood, fish and meat dishes, cheese platters, vegetarian and vegan options, and a separate children's menu.
Happie Camp opens glamping chain in Småland, Sweden
After being active in Värmland for five years, Happie Camp is now expanding its concept to Småland. Happie Camp is a network of tents located in secluded and otherwise inaccessible places surrounded by beautiful nature. The tents are booked per night and everything you need for a comfortable stay in the forest is provided, including a specially designed food package adapted for outdoor cooking. For the 2023 season, Happie Camp is now erecting tents in two new locations, near Store Mosse National Park and Åsnens National Park.
ForSea set a new record during Easter
During Easter, Swedish and Danish travellers are happy to take the ferry between Helsingborg and Elsinore - so also this Easter. This year, ForSea had the best Easter ever since the opening of the Öresund Bridge. As many as 78,616 Swedish and Danish passengers took the ferry across Öresund during Easter. This is an increase of almost 10 per cent compared to Easter 2022 and the best Easter since 1996 - before the Öresund Bridge changed travel habits in the region.
Näsby Slott launches new minibar - for dogs
Näsby Slott in Täby has long been a dog-friendly destination where dogs are always welcome, both in the hotel rooms and in the lounges. Now Näsby Slott is launching a minibar for their four-legged visitors that contains treats such as cookies, pieces of hamburger, lollipops, the dog's own shampoo and conditioner, and of course dog beer. The castle, also known as Stockholm's boutique castle, also offers wine evenings, After Work and secret guest appearances in its own restaurant Lilla Slottskrogen.
