Right now we are on a motorhome adventure through Sweden. We have made a round trip that took us south towards Småland, and then made us turn north along Lake Vättern.

Stockholm - Mariefred - Småland
This year's motorhome trip started as usual in Stockholm. Our first stop was in Mariefred and then we travelled on to Småland, where we started with a visit to the the troll in Gamleby. We made short visits to Vimmerby and some other Astrid Lindgren sites on our way to Eksjö …
Three wooden cities
Do you know "Three wooden cities"? These are the fine cities of Eksjö, Hjo and Nora who together promote themselves behind this title. All three cities have received a Europa Nostra award for the conservation, restoration, reuse and addition of buildings in the historic environment.
In collaboration with Three Wooden Cities, we are doing a "Wooden City Classic" (visits to the three cities), so you can soon expect reports on Eksjö, Hjo and Nora here on freedomtravel.se.
To do the "classic", you have to visit the tourist office in each city, where you get a sticker. Once you have all the stickers, you get a gift. It's fun, but the best part is that you get to visit three amazing - and very different - wooden cities. We'll tell you more soon!
Spring weather and full steam ahead
It's been fantastic with the sun and spring warmth, even if it suddenly got much colder ... We got used to sleeping without heat in the motorhome, but one night we woke up to only three degrees outside, and then it was chilly in the car, to say the least ...
It is also hectic! Not only do we have collaborations in place, but there is also a constant stream of emails and planning. And in the middle of it all, you have to buy food, empty and fill water and fix a thousand other practical things. We do the best we can and it's great to have the house and office with us!
Best this week
The best thing about this week is that we are on a roll. We are love really the motorhome life! It has also been great to experience these beautiful and charming wooden towns. How has your week been? What has been your favourite part of the week?
The week ahead
In the coming week, you can expect reports on ... Eksjö, Hjo and Nora. Maybe there will be the occasional guest report as well. We'll be moving on to visit Peter's mum in the Gävle area and to the High Coast. Feel free to read about our planned motorhome trip in Sweden and Finland.

We liked Hjo very much. We were disappointed with Nora glassen 🙂 We have not visited Eksjö. Have a continued nice road trip.

Yes, they are three different but incredibly charming wooden towns. We've visited them all, but without 'doing the classic'.
It's great to be on a roll. For us, it is also the best of the week! After a couple of nice days in Skåne, we have now had a couple of days on Bornholm, so cosy but also here cold evenings and nights.
Have a nice weekend!

I have only visited Hjo, which I think is so cute.
Then I loved the electrical cabinet. Maybe not exactly the motif, but as long as you have these boring grey electrical cabinets painted, I'm sold;-)
