Now we are home in the houseboat again, after our motorhome trip "Gulf of Bothnia around". It has been a fantastic and eventful trip! Now we are planning for new projects ... Happy Friday!

The final stops on the motorhome journey in Norrland ...
If you follow us on Instagram, where we are called @freedomtravelnews, you have almost been able to follow our motorhome trip around the Gulf of Bothnia in real time. Here at freedomtravel.se we are a little more behind in terms of time, simply because it takes time to write the reports. From our Norrland adventure we have so far been able to tell you about:
- Kukkola Rapids
- Haparanda and Tornio
- Kalix
- First Camp Arcus - Luleå
- Van Gogh Alive in Skellefteå (the exhibition will soon move to Malmö)
So, what else have we managed to see? Well, there have been visits to Luleå, Skellefteå, Umeå, Örnsköldsvik and Sundsvall. Of course, there have not only been visits to the city centres, but also to the surrounding areas. Many fantastic places!
Unfortunately, we did not have time to go inland, which we had planned from the beginning. We have a lot left to explore in the northern parts of the country, which we will have to save for another time. In any case, we have experienced many nice places, and there will be more reports soon.
A stop in Gävle - where H.M. the King gave a speech
After the visit to Sundsvall we left for Gävle, where we were to meet Peter's brother Micke at the railway station. Together we went into town for a few errands, and what met us there? Well, there was H.M. the King himself giving a speech.
Visit to Peter's mum
After listening to the king of the country for a while, we bought crayfish and went to Peter and Mickes mum's house. It was a bit of a surprise you could say. She knew that Peter and I would come, but both Micke and the crayfish were a surprise. It was a very nice evening, and the next day we helped with some errands and practical things.
Grisslehamn - and preparations for the Elmia trade fair
Micke then joined us in the camper van, and we stayed together at Grisslehamns Marina & Camping in Sweden. Grisslehamn. Here we were perfectly placed to work on preparations for the Destination Square at the Elmia exhibition.
It is not far away now, and it is many details to organise. There are almost 20 exhibitors in the square and almost 15 different lecturers (with even more different lectures), award ceremonies, raffles, a selfie corner ... and of course decorating our own stand. We will be busy until the fair, we can promise!
At home in the houseboat
Now we are at home in the houseboat again! The boat has been well taken care of by our neighbours, and seemed to be in great shape. Happy Friday!
Best this week
What has been the best part of this week? We became very fond of Sundsvall, a very nice and pleasant city. It is also nice to see the houseboat again! But above all, we are probably happy that it feels like we are tying everything together for the Elmia fair, even if there is a lot left ...
Your turn ... what has been the best part of your week?
The week ahead
During the coming week, we plan to live the houseboat life in Stockholm, work at our computers, take walks and work on trade fair preparations. Here at freedomtravel.se we will be reporting on some of the places we visited in Norrland!

Welcome home! But you could have brought the nice weather you had up north;-) Fun with a surprise visit to Peter's mum. Peter is very similar to her, I think. Just as happy on both sides:-)

What an amazing journey! Welcome home" Have done a similar one some years ago and have read and followed you. We drove and stayed in hotels, B&Bs and rented cottages but that worked out very well too.
Unfortunately we had a lot of rain on our trip so glad you had much better luck.
And a trip to the Swedish hinterland in the north will be good another time. You can't do everything.
Nice visit to Peter's mum.
Have fun!
