Svenska vackra Västkustvägen is a theme road that takes you through perhaps Sweden's most beautiful archipelago. We start in Båstad and make our way up through our beautiful west coast to the Norwegian border. Travel on your own and at your own pace - by car, motorhome, caravan or motorbike.

Sweden's beautiful West Coast Road
The beautiful Swedish West Coast Road is a FREEDOMtravel Theme Road that runs from Båstad, via 29 special destinations, up to the Norwegian border, with all the best of Sweden. You can follow it from any direction, or pick your favourite part (your favourite spots) in the middle.
We haven't included Gothenburg, which requires its own guide, but you can find tips for Gothenburg here. This is an idea to make it easier for you to go on a little adventure. Happy travelling!

Ramsvikslandet is part of Sotenäset and was a peninsula until the Sote Canal was excavated. Today Ramsvikslandet is an island, accessible from the mainland via a swing bridge. Here you will find beautiful nature and several hiking trails. Do not miss visiting the exciting King Tryggve's grave.

25. Tanum rock carving area
The rock carving area in Tanum is a World Heritage Site with over 500 rock carving sites, which together contain tens of thousands of images. The images were carved in the Bronze Age, between 1700 BC and 500 BC. You can see the rock carvings, which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in several locations. You can also visit the Vitlycke Museum.
