Then it was Friday again, and on Fridays we run "Happy Friday" posts here at FREEDOMtravel, that is, a little short (and preferably happy) from the week. This Friday we will focus on the region of Brescia in Italy and on Winter Lights at Skansen, which premieres on 27 October.

A week full of events
We have recently returned from an exciting trip in the Netherlands. Uzbekistanand we immediately threw ourselves into events here in Stockholm. One day it was about The 150th anniversary of the Nordic Museum and the next on the region of Brescia in Italy.
Visit Brescia - a beautiful region in Italy
Do you know where the Italian region of Brescia is located? We have travelled in this beautiful area, but still had little knowledge of the region. Brescia is located in the north of Italy and includes a part of Lake Garda and the beautiful Lake Garda. Lake Iseo. Here you can also see the Val Camonica petroglyphs, which include around 300,000 carvings and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We were invited to an Italian-inspired dinner, which was both tasty and offered fans from southern Europe. Italian desserts are something special, aren't they?
Winter Lights at Skansen
During this week we have also been to the preview of "Winter Lights" at Skansen. This 1.5-kilometre long walk contains light and sound, and is open to visitors between 27 October and 28 January, with a separate ticket.
To get to the experience, we had to walk a bit up Skansen, to Skogaholms manor, where there was a wonderful atmosphere with candles, live music and small stalls with goodies.
Winter Lights consists of dozens of large light installations, a customised soundscape and a variety of other light effects and decorations. You walk through a magical landscape that constantly changes shape.
The light installations are sometimes above you, sometimes in the form of special sculptures and other times by giving traditional buildings a completely new look.

Best this week
Best of this week? We are back in Sweden, but still full of impressions from our trip to Uzbekistan. So far, we've only had time to tell you about Conference 25 UNWTO and all the festivities associated with it. But more to come soon - we're busy sorting photos and film clips, and writing!
Your turn ... what can you highlight as positive from the week?
The week ahead
During the coming week, there will be a small road trip for us, together with Peter's brother Micke, who works with advertising sales at FREEDOMtravel. We will meet a bunch of companies that we cooperate with, in Poland and Sweden, and in Poland we will also take the opportunity to check out some exciting places that we have not visited before. The trip will be by regular car, as we have set up the motorhome for winter storage.
Here at FREEDOMtravel you can expect to read more about mythical Samarkand in Uzbekistan. In addition, there will be some glimpses from our road trip in Poland and southern Sweden. Hope you join us!

Italy is a country that always appeals. Been there as a child, but not since. Looking forward to getting there fairly soon.
Lights at Skansen looks really beautiful. Atmospheric experience I can imagine.
The best part of this week has to be that I have the day off and will be hanging out with my adult daughter. And that we are going to friends tomorrow. Ooops, there were two "bests" this time 😉.

Agree with you about Italian desserts, the main courses did not like either you or me. But a homemade Tiramisú - MUMS:-)
Winter Lights at Skansen is really, really cool. But then Skansen also charges good money for the installations. Totally fine!

Winter Lights at Skansen looks really cosy. Light installations have really become fashionable and are appearing in many cities.
Italy is truly a country to savour, every region seems to have so much to offer.
The best thing for us this week is undoubtedly the last motorhome trip of the year. Now we hope that the snow that they threaten will not come before we are home....

Italian desserts.... my weakness. The Winterlights look great. We have something similar here in some Belgian cities.
