This week FREEDOMtravel - Peter, Helena and Peter's brother Micke who works with us - has been on a road trip in Poland and southern Sweden. It has been a nice trip with good meetings (Happy Friday!), but there was also one thing that was not so fun ...
Table of contents
Crafts in the houseboat
Our week started with "crafts" in the houseboat. Our air heat pump has been broken for a long time and could not be repaired, and now it was finally time to change it! We had bought a new air heat pump and booked an installer ... and a boat.
The outer part of the air source heat pump is on the outside of the boat, so to install it you have to stand on a boat next to the houseboat. The installer, who had installed lots of air source heat pumps, had never done the installation this way before... But it went great! Now we finally have a new air source heat pump!
On a road trip
The rest of the week we have been out on a road trip together with Peter's brother Micke, who works with us at FREEDOMtravel, with advertising sales. You can read about the beginning of the road trip here: With Polferries to Poland.
On the ferry to Poland, I (Helena) had time to read for the first time in a long time. Right now I'm reading "Hundparken" by Sofi Oksanen, which is very good and interesting, if a bit dark.
Lovely return visit to Gdansk
After the crossing with Polferries, we got to see lovely Gdansk again. We have been here a few times, and we really love this city! It's great to stroll around here, among all the beautiful house facades and cosy restaurants. The photos below were taken during an early walk in the morning light.
Continued journey - and a sad event
After the visit, the journey continued to Sczcecin and back to Sweden. We will tell you more about it later! We haven't just travelled, but above all had meetings with various cooperation partners. It has been busy and very intense.
The trip has involved many nice meetings, but at the end a sad thing happened. Peter lost his mobile phone on the way up through Sweden, along with all his credit cards and all other kinds of cards... We don't know exactly how it happened, but it has disappeared without a trace despite a lot of searching, ringing (it's switched off) and trying to use the "Find my iPhone" function. I think we need to realise that it's gone ...
We haven't even realised how much hassle this will be (bank ID, driving licence, apps, photos, sim cards, the phone itself, etc. etc). To begin with, we have blocked the bank cards. The rest we will have to deal with soon... Phew!
Best this week
We can't just think about the lost phone, so what has been the best part of this week? The visit to lovely Gdansk and all the good and productive meetings along the way! Your turn... what has been the best part of your week?
The week ahead
In the week to come, we have to replace everything in Peter's lost phone... Then we'll be busy, with meetings, events, a travel trade fair and lots of other things. Here at FREEDOMtravel it will be a mixed bag, including a bit of Poland and Spain. Now we take the opportunity to wish you a nice Friday!

Nice pictures from the morning walk! Hope it works out with all the cards, a sad event of course that shadows the nice experiences. Wish you a nice weekend.

Thank you, glad you like the pictures! The light was so nice! And yes, it resolves itself with time, but it's hard when it happens ...

Such nice pictures from Gdansk, another city we haven't visited. We have talked about motorhome to Poland for many years but then it has always been some other destination.
Hope it works out with all the cards and things in the phone. I lost my bank card in my phone when we went hiking on Malmön last weekend. Wow what a quick walk back it was. We were quite alone out there so we found it after a couple of extra kilometres of hiking.

Gdansk is a great city! And there are many more nice Polish cities, so you have something to look forward to! 🙂 Lucky you found the bank card!!! Yes, it is a lot of work to solve everything with the phone, but it will work out in the end.

Oh, no! So crazy hard! It is quite a lot you have in that handset nowadays. Hope it goes smoothly for you.
It looks really beautiful where you have been. Looking forward to a visit eventually.
Have a nice Friday!

Unfortunately, the lost mobile phone, including cards and more, overshadowed the loss. I know exactly how it feels, as I experienced the same thing in Benidorm in 2014. The most important thing even then was to block the cards. Nevertheless, the thieves managed to withdraw a lot of money.
The good thing was that the insurance company covered everything, including photography for a new driving licence. The only thing I had to pay was the deductible of SEK 1 200. But of course you felt handicapped for a few weeks without a licence...?
PS. when the phone is switched off, it may be that it is somewhere on the ferry perhaps. I mean there is no coverage on the Baltic Sea, so maybe the phone is somewhere on the boat. Just an idea.
Good luck!

Yes, then you know ... Really hard, although of course it solves itself with time. Thanks for the tip about the ferry, but no, we lost our mobile phone in Jönköping. We can see the last position, but then it was switched off and after that it is gone ...
