Five trends in traffic across the Øresund Bridge in 2023

Øresundsbron looks back at five clear trends for traffic across the bridge in 2023.

  • Green corridors are growing rapidly - The share of vehicles running on electricity or hydrogen increased by more than 55 per cent.
  • Several traffic records during the summer - With a total of 923,496 journeys in July, it was the best monthly record in the history of the bridge.
  • Record high Danish leisure traffic - The exchange rate and an increased interest in holidays in the local area may explain this.
  • Slowed down freight traffic - Overall, truck traffic decreased by 2 per cent in 2023 compared to 2022.
  • Many choose new commuter card - ØresundPENDLARE+ - a commuter card for unlimited journeys at a fixed price - was a success.
