Sharp increase in bookings in December
According to the latest statistics from travel agency Ticket, bookings in December increased by an impressive 31 per cent compared to the same period in 2019, indicating a clear recovery in the travel industry. The most popular destinations for the month included Gran Canaria, Bangkok and, surprisingly, Malaga. Despite Malaga's low ranking in 2019, the Spanish city has moved up to third place this year. These destinations were the most booked in December:

- Barcelona

Orsa Grönklitt launches new activity: sauna raft and winter swimming
Orsa Grönklitt is proud to present a new winter activity this season. Now guests can enjoy an experience close to nature with the new sauna raft and the possibility of winter bathing in the middle of the majestic nature. Bastuflotten is idyllically located in Rädsjön, surrounded by a winter-covered nature view.
Tekniska museet celebrates 100 years with an eye to the future
The number of visits to the Technical Museum's core activities increased by 13 per cent in 2023, with a total of 337 000 visitors during the year. Tekniska is now preparing for the 2024 anniversary year. The centenary celebrations started already in December 2023 with the opening of the Wisdome Stockholm. Jubilee year with a focus on the first branch of the museum, The Cell in Hagastaden. In May, the Forests, an experience that explores man's relationship with the forest.
Where most personalised licence plates are found
Over the past five years, the number of personalised number plates has increased by 17% to just over 25 000. The greatest likelihood of encountering a car with a personalised number plate is in Botkyrka municipality, where there are 10.47 personalised plates per 1 000 cars. This is according to a compilation by car broker Kvdbil. There are almost as many in Trosa (10.40) and Bjuv in Skåne (10.02). The bottom position is held by Pajala with only 0.80 personalised number plates per 1,000 cars. Some plates that stand out:

Increased demand for domestic flights after snow chaos
The recent snow storm in Sweden has greatly affected the country's transport system and led to a significant increase in searches for domestic flights. According to recently released figures from travel agency Ticket, interest in domestic flights has increased by 143 per cent compared to the previous week's low point. The rapid increase suggests that travellers are seeking alternative transport options in light of the affected train and road conditions.
The most exciting destinations for young travellers in 2024
Travel experts at Omio, the booking platform for rail, bus and air travel, have surveyed 100 cities in 40 countries to find the most attractive city destinations for the new generation. Generation Z favours destinations with a high acceptance of LGBTQ+ and gender equality, fast mobile connections, environmentally friendly public transport, a wide range of vegetarian options, and live concerts and e-sports events. Stockholm is number 18 on the list, as one of the largest gaming metropolises in Europe. Here is the top list:

Interesting list of exciting travel destinations for young people! From a Swedish perspective, it can be noted that many of the destinations are far away, and may therefore cost a lot to get to. If you look at the whole list, there are some closer destinations that are also listed as exciting for young people: Berlin, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Brussels and Copenhagen, among others.
