Now we are back in the cold north, after seven weeks in South Africa, with a small final twist in Zimbabwe. The return has not been quiet, but rather overwhelming.

Home in the North - after 7 weeks in Africa
What a trip it was to South Africa! Fantastic! We are far from having digested all the impressions from this trip, but it leaves an impression, we can say that. South Africa is a country that has challenges (we have written about it here), but it is also an incredibly beautiful and diverse country, with everything from safaris and semi-desert to penguins and vineyards.
Closure - a few days at Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe - was the icing on the cake. The journey home was long and we were tired to say the least when we landed in Stockholm, but very, very happy.
Caravan and motorhome fair
After such a long and intense journey, we needed a little break at home, but that's what happened. not. Already the next day we were ready at the fair. Stockholm Caravan Motorhome 2024 at Stockholmsmässan, where we gave a lecture on travelling "around the Gulf of Bothnia". Very fun, but exhausting!
Travelling to Turku
Was it time to rest after this? No, not at all! We were booked on a 2-day press trip to France. Turku in Finland. We went there with the nice Viking Glory (a new acquaintance for us!) and had very nice and lovely days.
Tired ...
If we were tired after all this travelling? Yes, completely leached ... As soon as we see a bed, sofa or chair, we fall asleep. But sometimes you have to take action anyway! Peter's mum has sadly passed away some time ago, and we're now spending time rearranging her stuff and making all the practical arrangements. After that, we hope to have time to rest a bit, feel, catch up on work and such things ...
Best this week
Not everything is fun all the time, but if we are to highlight the most positive from the week, it is the nice trip to Turku, together with a wonderful group of people. Even though we were tired, it also gave us energy!
The week ahead
Now we will be home in Sweden for a while. We will spend time with Peter's brother and take care of his mum's things. We will also meet other family and friends. Here at FREEDOMtravel the reports from South Africa continue, mixed with guest articles and reflections. We wish you a great Friday and weekend!

Welcome back home after your weeks away in the heat!
Tragic when your parents pass away, but then again, that's life!
Have a nice weekend

Thank you very much! Yes, of course it is boring and sad, but as I said, life goes on. Wish you also a nice weekend!!!

Welcome home!
As fun and rewarding as it is to travel and experience, we really understand that you are completely exhausted and really need to land at home and catch up with yourselves!!!
Always sad when family members pass away and you suddenly realise that you are the oldest generation.....

Helena says:
Thank you very much! Yes, it certainly affects when the older generation disappears. I (Helena) still have my mum, but Peter no longer has any parents left in life. Wish you a nice weekend!

Welcome home! Sorry to hear about Peter's mum. It means that you get an extra "fatigue" on top of what you already have. But Peter usually says that life is far too short not to enjoy. And you have really done that for seven weeks at least;-) The Turku trip was a bonus there.

Thank you so much! Yes, of course it is sad, even though it is part of life. There are both emotional and practical things when someone passes away, so it certainly contributes to the fatigue. We will try to find some time for rest soon! Wishing you a nice weekend!

How quickly it goes! Seven weeks, you were just travelling. Welcome home and take a few hours of rest and a long night sometimes.
Sorry to hear that Peter's mum passed away or before as everyone said in the UK. And a lot of work around it so the grief often feels more late.
Take good care of yourselves.
PS, been a bit difficult to comment, the cookies want to be eaten😉whatever you suggest, comes again and again and again so the post is not reached. Made some special settings now every time and works with it. Maybe more people have problems and unfortunately it was not possible to write it either about the problem.

Hi Monica! Thank you very much for your comment! And thank you for telling us that you had difficulties reaching a post! We absolutely do not want it to be like that! Could you tell us a little more so we understand? Do you mean the little box where you have to accept cookies? Or do you mean the full-screen advert that comes up? Please tell us as detailed as possible, and we will do our best to fix it!!!

Monica says:
Yes, it is the box with cookies that cannot be bypassed, pressing allow all, allow some, allow none, does not matter, it comes up and obscures the post completely, yes, cannot get to the post that is visible for half a second and then hidden by the cookie box and cannot be read. But decided to make a special for you that is not needed otherwise. Also made new settings with me basically but not helped. But now came up with one that I do every time I bring up Freedomtravel. Tried to figure out what it is but gets tired, understands everything that should work with you that it is a lot of work.

Thank you for telling us Monica! How sad that you had problems with this!!! (And maybe more?) You have to have that box by law, but it is not supposed to cause problems!!! I will check with our web developer, if he can do anything! Can I ask a few more questions? Are you experiencing problems on a computer, tablet or mobile phone? Mac or PC? Which browser (e.g. Chrome or Explorer)?
23 March 2024 - 14:27
Monica says:
I mostly use a mobile phone now and have Chrome. Thought about switching, there might be something wrong with that browser but couldn't be bothered any more.
It would be interesting if it affects more people, but it's not possible to write it because you can't "get there". Now I'm experimenting a bit and will see if it works in the long run. Also think that whole systems change sometimes without us knowing, updates are latest with me so strange is it.
But you see if you have contact with the people you use and everything else that is important in what you do. It would be interesting to know, it just happened suddenly.

Thanks for some more detailed info! I don't know what it is (haven't experienced any problems myself), but as you say, there may be others who have the same problem. I'll ask our web developer and see if he has any ideas about it ...!
