Parliament approves increase in gross vehicle weight limit with B licence for motorhomes.
The European Parliament has voted in favour of increasing the total weight of motorhomes with a B licence to 4,250 kg. The decision, taken last week, is the second step in the EU's decision-making process, the first being in December 2023 when the EU Council of Ministers voted in favour of the same proposal. The proposal now goes to a final negotiation between the three institutions (Council of Ministers, European Parliament and European Commission) to ensure that all parties agree on the proposed changes to the European Commission's original proposal for a new driving licence directive.
Ticket Collection: What the 2024 travel year will look like
Travel agency Ticket has conducted a major Sifo survey and dug into booking statistics to map Swedes' travel patterns in its annual trend report. Ticket Collection. It shows that more than half intend to holiday abroad in 2024, but that the economy and global turmoil are changing the nature of travel, making Europe the big winner. Sun and sea are the main attractions, but exploring is now more important than quality family time. Charters remain popular, but scheduled flights are growing fastest. Travelling is also spreading out more throughout the year. A selection of trending holiday countries:

Eurowings expands with two new direct routes from Arlanda this summer
Eurowings continues to expand at Stockholm Arlanda Airport by launching two new direct routes for the summer of 2024. The new routes will serve Hanover and Naples respectively, adding to Eurowings' wide range of services. Starting on 1 May, Eurowings will fly to Hannover on Wednesdays and Sundays. From 14 June, the company will fly to Naples on Fridays and Sundays.
Croatia Airlines launches new direct route to Zagreb for the summer season
Croatia Airlines is continuing its expansion in Sweden and at Swedavia's Stockholm Arlanda Airport by launching a direct route to the new destination. Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Starting on 20 May, the Stockholm Arlanda Airport - Zagreb route will be operated three times a week with an A319 aircraft.
"Set Jetting" travel trend: TUI suggests five destinations inspired by new films
Have you heard of 'set jetting'? The phenomenon is one of this year's travel trends, with popular films and TV series inspiring travellers' choice of destination, which in turn makes specific destinations more popular. For the Oscars season, leading travel operator TUI has come up with five new films, destinations and excursions you should visit this year if you want to follow in the footsteps of the movie stars.

Interesting about the increase in total weight. We are thinking of weighing ours. Then maybe the possible loss of driving licences need not be a concern (yes, we tend to drive a bit too fast sometimes. Not over the licence limit, but still).
