Phew, what April weather! The wind has shaken our houseboat in all directions and the snow has been blowing all around us. And it's been cold too! How has the weather been for you?

April weather and houseboat life
So, what April weather it was! Easter brought sunshine and lovely spring warmth and then ... bang! Snow, wind and gusts from the north that made stuff fall off tables and shelves here in the houseboat. We tried not to go out, but you could say that this kind of weather is still noticeable, when you live in a boat.
We shared some footage from the storm on @freedomtravelnews on Instagram and the best comment was that "Now it can only get better!". Yes, it's really true!
Exercise, rest and good TV series
We're resting a lot now, after a long hectic period, but we've also started exercising again! We alternate "power walks" with training exercises in front of a programme on the screen. Of course, we've started slowly and cautiously, but it still feels good to be going.
Part of resting is watching TV. Since we never watch TV when we're travelling (then we're busy with experiences + work in front of the computer), TV always feels luxurious to us.
We have seen the film "Hammarskjöld" (SF Anytime). Very interesting! We have also finished watching "Historien om Sverige" on SVT Play. If you have not seen it - watch it! A very good and engaging review of the entire Swedish history!
Find our holidays at Sembo!
Advertising for Sembo: This week we've partnered with Sembo - the travel agency where you can build and book your entire trip from start to finish, whether it's a flying or driving holiday. We're now featured on their site as travel inspectors, where we give tips on various trips we've taken (or recommended parts of them), by showing how we travelled, where we stayed, etc.
You can find all the trips we recommend at Helena and Peter's page at Sembo (advertising for Sembo). So far we have added a small group of trips, and in time there will be more. Take a look and see what you think!
Best this week
Best this week? We promise that the weather not qualify for this top list, but maybe we have started training. It feels good! What has been the best part of your week?
The week ahead
During the coming week we are still at home in the houseboat in Stockholm. On FREEDOMtravel you can expect a comprehensive report on Cape Town, as well as several articles on our adventures in Zimbabwe. A guest report on Mallorca is also coming. Stay tuned!

The best part of the week? The weather maybe, haha. Something so terrible and I don't think it's been this awful before but everyone says it has, I doubt it. Have to bring in outdoor furniture, cushions and pillows, everything is under cover but the snow swirled over everything. Usually can always be left otherwise.
And planted flowers I have but decided they are freeze resistant, haha on that too.
And then the road conditions and the rush to change to summer tyres maybe not long ago. But did not do it.
Easter was nice, imagine the sun warming up so we had to change our winter clothes and imagine having a coffee in the sun. Happy for the nice Easter this year.
Now we hope for some spring but looks rainy. Seen bluebells in any case but think it's risky this year and untidy in many places. Have a good time in the boat, some training sounds good.

Yes, the weather has really been awful!!! We had put the winter clothes in the wardrobe, but they had to be taken out again ... But now spring is coming soon, for real!

We had the motorhome ready to go early on Tuesday but realised we wouldn't and put it away again on Monday evening. I'm glad we didn't go, it wasn't fun with all the snow and maybe especially the wind! Understand that it shakes properly in the boat's moorings.
And this morning there was a fresh dose of snow, although it melted away directly onto the road, thank goodness.
Have a nice weekend.

April weather is a mild expression for what we have had in recent days. I read in an online newspaper that we in Falköping got the most snow in Sweden during the snow day, 42 cm, and thankfully it didn't get much more during the next snowfall. We understand that you have had a hard time, but it sounds good that you are at home and recharging your batteries and have even got training into your daily planning.
