What a week! After a few quiet weeks with work and walks, we have now had an intense week filled with socialising, events and mingling. In addition, we are busy with travel planning for the next adventure ...
Table of contents
Dinner in town with friends
Last weekend we had dinner in the city with our good friends Lennart and Beata. We ate at an Italian restaurant on Drottninggatan called... Piccoli Sapori. Good food and also a nice concept of half or whole dishes, so you can order smaller portions if you want or combine several different dishes.
Afterwards we had a drink in a pub further up the street. That it is expensive to eat out is something we are prepared for, but that it would be so expensive to take something to drink ... Puh! Next time we will probably have to hang out with our friends at home or in some suburb. In the city centre, the money rolls quickly when you go out!
Events and mingling with travel writers
This week we have also been to events and mingles. On Wednesday, the Croatian Tourist Board invited us to a meeting together with Croatia Airlines. Among other things, they wanted to tell us that this summer there will be a new direct route between Stockholm and Croatia's beautiful capital city. Zagreb. Nice!
Another nice thing about these events is that you get the chance to meet and mingle with other travel writers. We met many friends and acquaintances that we haven't seen for a long time. In the picture below, you see us (far left and right) together with Christian from Food and travel blog and Lina from Liniz Travel.
Then we moved on to Mandel Media Day where companies showcased various new outdoor products. There was also a presentation with inspiration about Finland as a destination. All in all, it was a full day of mingling, and after that we were exhausted, more or less.
Travel planning - and picking up a motorhome
Otherwise, we are currently working on travel planning for our next trip, which is to ... drumroll ... Uzbekistan! Last year, we visited the exciting and mythical city of Samarkand, and since then we have continued to cooperate with the country's embassy in Stockholm.
We've now put together a group of journalists and bloggers from across the Nordic region and in about 10 days we're off on a press trip - this time on a tour that includes several cities and places in the country. Exciting!
Today it is also time for us to collect our motorhome from winter storage. Then it is time for us to preparing the motorhome for spring and summer, when we plan to travel in Sweden, including in Småland and Dalarna.
Best this week
Best thing about this week? We may not have gotten as much done as planned, but on the other hand it has been nice to meet both friends and colleagues. It is also nice that - at least on some days - there has been spring in the air.
Your turn ... what can you highlight as positive from the week?
The week ahead
We continue to hang out in Stockholm for another week, while we prepare for the upcoming adventure in Uzbekistan. Here at FREEDOMtravel you can expect reports about Victoria Falls and Turku, but also about our motorhome plans and the trip to Uzbekistan. Keep up with us - both here and on Instagram at @freedomtravelnews!

Hello there!
HB came home before Easter, we made a short trip to Helsingborg, after getting another nice little grandchild. This Saturday there will be a "children's party" for another. But first sauna here at home in the garden tonight with good motorhome friends. Maybe we can sneak on a HB trip after that. Nice weekend on you!

So exciting with a new trip to Uzbekistan and that this time you get to see a little more of the country, will surely be really cool! Will be fun to see your summer plans with Freedom. The best of the week is probably still that today we woke up in a windy Lysekil after our first motorhome night of the year, so cosy!

Yes, it will be exciting! We like Lysekil, although I can understand that you have been windy now! Cozy in any case to be out on the premiere trip!!!

Great fun with another trip to Uzbekistan! I mean, you've done an incredible amount of publicity for Samarkand, so another press trip is well deserved.
Going out in Stockholm IS expensive! Prices have skyrocketed, not only after the pandemic but mostly in the last year, I think.
And the countryside/suburbs are NOT cheaper, I can tell you, at least not compared to the Italian restaurant on Drottninggatan.
I always argue like this: it doesn't affect the poor;-)

Yes, it will be great to go to Uzbekistan again! And yes, we have worked a lot on this. Not least with planning and putting together a group for the new trip!
Sure, it's expensive! And yes, you might be right about the suburbs! But we know a place in Sundbyberg that has cheap beer, so maybe we'll go there next time 😉.

Lovely days in Germany. Away good but home best they say. Is at least home again after a trip to Germany between 22/3-9/4 which has been fantastic and met German friends. Celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on Tropical Island.
Have a nice weekend🥰
