New survey: Health and well-being the holiday trend of the year

Ahead of this year's summer planning, it is clear that health and well-being are in focus, according to a recent Sifo survey from Göta Canal. The growing health trend is also reflected in what Swedes plan to do this summer. One in three is planning an active holiday in nature, which is slightly more than those planning a holiday abroad.

Uncertain world situation drives Swedes' choice of travel destinations

The most important factor when choosing a destination is that it is safe and secure, said 40 per cent, closely followed by the price of the trip and the availability of direct flights - three travel trends that clearly reflect our time.

More people visit the High Coast throughout the year

The High Coast is still going strong, according to new official accommodation statistics. The destination recorded 684,200 guest nights in 2023, which is similar to the figures for 2022 (687,683). One difference is that the destination is growing outside the high season, which is in line with the destination's strategy to become a year-round destination. Since 2019, the number of national visitors in High Coast increased by 12 per cent, while the number of foreign visitors increased by 11 per cent.

Reflection of the week

The holiday trends are in time it feels like! Interesting by the way with cheap flight transfers. Nowadays, we usually book a car from Bolt when we go to or from Arlanda, because it is affordable (especially when you are two) and easy. But alternatives are good!
